Land grabbing and land prices since 1989
MELMEROVÁ, Anna
The bachelor's thesis is focused on mapping the decrease of agricultural and especially arable land in the Czech Republic since 1989, examining the changeover of agricultural land to built-up areas, mapping the development of charges for land grabbing, evaluation of legislative conditions for the land grabbing and evaluation of opportunities to affect the land grabbing by the administration. Two hypotheses have been formulated: 1. Construction is carried out mainly at the expense of arable land - data analysis of the conversion of arable land confirmed this hypothesis. 2. Increased charges for the land grabbing in 2011 have had an effect on soil loss - comparison charges for the land grabbing with the loss of agricultural land did not confirm this hypothesis.
Measurement and evaluation of emissions of gases in the selected operating poultry and design to reduce them in the use of nanotechnology.
KUBÁŇ, Svatopluk
Agriculture is considered one of the greatest threats to the environment. It affects all of its parts - the atmosphere, hydrosphere and pedosphere. The aim of this work is to measure the concentration of ammonia, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, water vapor and hydrogen sulfide that emit from chicken farming, using photoacoustic device INNOVA 1412. Measurements were taken in a farm in Čekanice. The thesis also proposes a possible abatement of gas emissions by means of nanotechnology and Envirolyte device
Agriculture and agricultural insurance in relation to the environment
Pastrňáková, Alena ; Syrovátka, Oldřich (advisor) ; Severýnová, Bohumila (referee)
Thanks to the gradual and steady development of agriculture, there are nowadays many ways to cultivate arable land. Some methods are much safer and better than other commonly used procedures and methods of cultivation and fertilization of arable land. In this document, I will discuss and analyze these methods to form arguments in order to convince insurance companies to recognize the benefits of these methods as well as their implementation through compliance of a proposal taking certain principles of crop cultivation in the insurance conditions for agricultural insurance into account.
Analýza společenské odpovědnosti firem v nejvýznamějších ICT společnostech z úhlu pohledu Green IT
Kovalenko, Iryna ; Basl, Josef (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This thesis is based on the concept of corporate social responsibility in world class ICT companies. This relatively new way of managing business became very popular among big corporations which are trying to reduce their environmental footprint while following the path of sustainable development. The aim of this study is to prove the importance of Green IT in the current dynamically developing world of ICT, and to explore the area of sustainability from the Green IT perspective. That is why three main areas are defined: sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and Green IT. The first part of the thesis covers interconnectivity between those terms. The next part represents the process of launching green initiatives into a corporate business model. It describes all the necessary steps of implementation, especially showing the important legislative aspects which help to prevent many potential issues. These practices are based on the MMDIS methodology and its conceptual Model of Integration. Another target of this thesis is to define the leading ICT vendors from all the perspectives -- as the most socially responsible company and the most preferable employer. The obtained results distinguish five companies from the others: Hewlett-Packard, Dell, IBM, Intel and Microsoft. The key achievement and added value of the thesis is the identification of the most problematic areas in the analyzed companies and presentation of their Green IT solution to prevent following issues.
The importance of CSR in direct selling
Zoulová, Sabina ; Křečková Kroupová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Mokrejšová, Veronika (referee)
The work deals with the importance of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in direct selling. The theoretical part characterises direct selling as a whole. It focuses on multilevel marketing, which is the most frequently used form of direct selling. Next it mentions characteristic features that help us disclose illegal systems. These systems just pose as multilevel marketing. This part also comprises statistics that provide an overview of the position of direct selling in the market. In large part it deals with consumer protection. To a certain extent, consumer protection might be guaranteed through CSR, the Code of ethics and a company's memberhip in direct selling associations. The practical part includes a case study. The subject of the study is the largest direct selling company -- Avon Product. The main goal of the work is to prove/disprove following hypothesisses: "While doing the shopping, customers give priority to other factors rather than CSR" and "While looking for a job, people (distributors) give priority to other factors rather than CSR". The hypothesisses will be evaluated on the basis of questionnaire survey, which has a quantitative and qualitative part.

Possibilities of reducing ammonia emissions from cattle suckler.
SEDLÁČEK, Radomír
Cattle breeding causes one of the biggest gas pollutions. As measuring of gas concentration still remains very difficult, it's not easy to set up improving technologies. This thesis is therefore aimed on measuring of ammonia, microclimate and ammonia emissions of cattle excluding market cattle sucklers while both pasture and winter stabling. As a suitable place for measuring, a farm of Radomir Sedlacek was chosen. To verify proposed method in practice, measuring took place also in other pasturing areas. Total average of ammonia concentration in pasture measuring was 0,5123 mg.m-3. Total average of specific producing emissions from the pasture was 25,45825,458 kg.ks-1.rok-1. Total average concentration in the stable of all six probes was 0,7035403 NH3 mg.m-3. Total average of producing emission in the stable of all six probes was 113,2744816 kg.stáj-1.rok-1. Specific producing emission for one animal while stabling was 1,742684332 kg.ks-1.rok-1. Suggested action to decrease ammonia emissions on the pasture is use of Amalgerol classic. In the stables this preparation is suggested to go together with PRP FIX fermentation. When combined, up to 70% decrease of ammonia emissions can be achieved.
