Traffic situation in region Žilina

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the traffic situation in the Žilina Region in Slovakia, which reveals its weaknesses. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part explains the theory neccessary for the correct understanding of the given terms in the practical part. In this part, the Žilina Region is represented together with the city of Žilina and also their history, culture and tourism are mentioned. According to introduced current situation in the transport sector, the examination of the possible shortcomings is implied. In the conclusion there are indentified deficiencies, on the basis of which proposals are made to improve this situation.

Analysis of labour market in Žilina Region

This bachelor thesis refers to a problem solving of labour market and unemployment in the Žilina Region. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the labour market in the Žilina Region during the years 2010 - 2015 and to identify the key factors which have had an influence on the development of the unemployment. This thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part explains all the key terms about the labour market, unemployment and the employment policy which are necessary for understanding the whole issue of the analytical part. The analytical part contains brief characteristics of the Žilina Region, and thereafter shown the analysis of the labour market and the unemployment during the monitored time period. Moreover, the attention is given to a method of using the financial resources at active steps of labour market in the Žilina Region and the Slovak Republic as a whole.

Bachelor thesis discusses about support Žilina region through the Structural Funds. It is also about analyzing the ways in which the county used the funds from the EU and for which projects should be in the next programming period focus. In the first part explains the basic concepts related to regional policy, the instrument of regional policy and the programming period 2007 - 2013 and its operational programs. The second part focuses on the characteristics of the region itself and implemented projects on its territory. The final section presents three own project proposals whose implementation would contribute to the further development of the region.
