Nedvědová, Markéta ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Binková, Simona (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the activities of the Spanish delegates, who were sent to Prague in oder to enforce political concerns of the Counter - Reformation. It is divided into eight parts. The first parts deals with the history of the Czech - Spanish relations until the Pre - White Mountain period. The next chapters are dedicated to the Spanish delegates (to Chantonnay, Monteagudo, Borja, San Clemente, Zúñiga and Oñate) and the chosen events between years 1564 and 1617. The purpose of the thesis was to find out, which were the concrete delegates'acts related with the Counter - Reformation policy, further how they perceived the important events and whether their efforts were successful. It was necessary to study the delegates' extensive correspondence, they sent from Prague to Madrid. This diplomatic correspondence is preserved in the Spanish archives in Simancas. For the purpose of Bohemian studies it was transcripted by the copyists, who worked mainly for professor Vlastimil Kybal at the beginning of 20th century. These transcriptions, that I have studied, are preserved in The National Archives in Prague.
