Alcohol Consumption of Prague High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors

Angelika Nelly Petrová Abstract The bachelor's thesis called "Alcohol Consumption of Prague's High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors" is about the consumption of alcohol by high school students, secondary technical school students and secondary vocational school students and the potential reasons for this alcohol consumption. The factors of socialization, such as the impact of the family, peer groups and school, are discussed in detail. The topic is first analyzed in the theoretical section that presents the main concepts, which are later on applied in the practical section, as well as the surveys that were exploited and became an inspiration for the bachelor's thesis. The practical section defines the survey objective, the survey task and related issues, the methodology of data collection and processing and their possible alternatives. It describes the methodological tool (SAQ), its individual dimensions and changes made after the pilot study. The findings are first presented for the entire target group, than are the respondents classified by gender and type of school they attend, which shows a significant difference between men and women as to the volume of consumed alcohol.
