Subject of this thesis is an urban development study of the former brownfield in Vítkovice - Moravská Ostrava. The initiative came from the new spatial plan of the Ostrava city, where this area was designated for further study. The goal was to design a quality connection to surrounding city parts and to create an independent, functionally diverse city district, which will embrace the past but also provide new inspiration near the city centre. The goal was also to enable further continuity in case of further industry downturn in the area.

Zahradně architektonické úpravy vodních toků v soudobém městě

Bachelor thesis deals with the "garden architecture modifications of watercourses in the contemporary city." For easier understanding of this topic were processed professional literary documents dealing with this issue in our country or other countries. For the output itself was chosen a model object of the River Ostravice in Ostrava with the adjacent settlement in Kamenec. There were carried out detailed analysis of space, its wider relations, transport and traffic, building functions, green functions or visual links. Historical data were also examined and the current state of the territory was assessed, together with dendrological research. According to the obtained information was processed a garden architecture study to grasp the demarcated area as a whole. The aim is to make accessible embankment and water area for visitors and residents of the adjacent settlements, indulge them with other options of well spent resting.
