Lean Management Application

The aim of the Diploma thesis Lean Management Application was optimize level of stock in manufacturing company KONE Industrial koncern s. r. o. by using of selected techniques of Lean management and proved financial savings in stock by economic analysis. The first part of the study was focused on the main concepts and basic principles used in Lean management. Furthermore, this part dealt with the issue of warehouses and inventories. In the second part ot the thesis was introduced company and current state was analyzed. Chapter Solution proposal of optimization of inventory included suggestions for possible solutions and the economic evaluation of the proposed changes by using knowledge as explained in the first part. The work is finished by summarizing the results of this work, discussions and recommendations.

Optimisation of spare parts inventories in a selected organisation.

The present diploma project deals with the analysis of maintenance and optimization of spare parts inventory in a selected organization operating in automotive industry. Theoretical and methodological part of the study reviews main approaches as well as existing methods and tools of effective inventory management. The empirical research was conducted at the VALEO AUTOKLIMATIZACE k.s., located in Rakovník, Czech Republic. It manufactures heating, air conditioning units and control panels for automotive industry. The analysis of spare parts inventory was done with the use of MS Excel with the purpose of determining the proper safety stock quantity for each spare parts component. The service level, standard deviation of consumption and lead time factor were selected as determinants (influencing parameters) for the analysis. In accordance to Pareto principle the spare parts components were categorized into three groups, namely, high, medium, and low value items. As a result of the research the calculation method of optimum level for inventory was suggested to support the company's SAP enterprise resource planning system. Applying the revealed calculation method the value of inventory average for 2016 was reduced by 1 356 492 CZK at 98% service level with minimum probability of stock outs.

Practical applications of operations research methods

Main goal of this work is to optimise replenishment cyclce of chosen product for J.O.D Dvořákovi Ltd. with usage of inventory managment methods. Based on analysis of company's data some variables for optimisation were identified. Using models for inventory managment with stochastic demand two results came out. Using method with continuous-review system company would need to order 388 pieces whenever supply drops below 237 pieces. Comparing to previous year new total costs are halved and are equal to 14 991 CZK. Result of method based on level of service at 98% is to order 388 pieces whenever supply drops below 130 pieces.Total year costs are at 18 119 CZK. According to acquired results author can recommend company a new way of inventory managment and save costs for ordering and storing supplies.

This part covers experience in purchasing, supply, warehousing and transportation. The practical part deals with optimization of material and stock management in the company LBtech a.s. This part analyzes the current status using internal data to propose possible improvements.

Records and inventory management in a construction company

The bachelor thesis focuses on problems linked to stock in a construction company. The aims of this work are records and inventory management analysis in the company and its subsequent evaluation and suggestions of inventory management improvements. The theoretical part describes inventory characteristic, accounting in compliance with The Czech accounting standards, appraising of inventory and various methods or models of inventory management. The practical part introduces the company and the inventory analysis, which uses the company's regulations to achieve the set aims. This part also includes inventory records and the application analysis of suppliers. The conclusion presents the company evaluation and possible improvements in inventory management, so that higher results of net incomes would be achieved. The reference books and other sources used in this thesis were provided by the company.

First part describes the theory basis, which became the starting point for practical part. Here, the stock is divided to three groups based on ABC method. Then, mod-el EOQ is applied on the most important group A, used for the calculation of opti-mal values to reach the minimalization of total storage costs. The discussion pro-vides the comparison of real and optimal values and evaluation of current stock management in the company.

This bachelor thesis deals with proposing measures which lead to optimization of stock management in a manufacturing corporation ABC s.r.o. with the application of the EOQ model. The theoretical part of the thesis is concerned with stock man-agement, systems of stock management and approaches to stock management, ABC analysis, models of stock management, storage, storage systems and the manufacturing company. In the practical part the ABC analysis is used to determine which stock items are the most important for the company. Subsequently, the EOQ model is applied to the most important stock items and therefore the optimum quantities for these items are determined, e.g. the optimum size of an order, the optimum length of the delivery cycle, the optimum number of deliveries and related costs. Discovered optimum results are compared with the current state of stock management in the company and recommendations for efficiency improvement of management process of these most important stock items are proposed.
