Life and work of sculptor Jan Štursa (drawing portraits of grandparents)
 ŠENKÝŘ, Tomáš
This bachelor thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. Its goal is to map the life of the Czech sculptor Jan Štursa. It also focuses on the less discussed part of the artist's work, which is his drawings. The theoretical part documents his life and the circumstances that affected him from his birth until his death. It also analyzes important sculptures in public spaces. Finally, it focuses on Štursa's drawing work. The practical part is based on Štursa's drawings and focuses on this work, which is often overlooked when it comes to sculptors. The physical part consists of a coll-ection of drawn portraits, which use the drawing technique to refer to the artist's work.

This thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. Intention of it is revival of artistic legacy of a famous Czech artist from the beginning of the 20. century František Bílek. In addition to that this thesis tries to find some possible impulses for contemporary age and artistic production.
