Physical therapy for musicians, especially bagpipe players, remains a relatively understudied area. Bagpipes present a specific strain on the musculoskeletal system, with much of their weight resting on one shoulder and being fixed to the body and forearm. This unilateral strain can lead to various functional disorders and discomfort during both play and daily activities. The aim of this study is to identify and describe these disorders and propose effective physiotherapeutic interventions to alleviate them. The research will be qualitative, focusing on 5-10 bagpipe players aged 10-25 who have completed their initial training in bagpipe playing. Data will be obtained by comparing kinesiological analyses of the subjects, including examinations both with and without the instrument and palpation of overstrained muscles. The findings of this study can serve as educational material for bagpipe players, their teachers, and parents. Additionally, they may stimulate further research into physiotherapy for musicians experiencing similar issues. This work may also raise awareness of the importance of musculoskeletal care in musical instrument performance, which can impact the long-term health and comfort of players.
