Role of the Czech Export Bank in a small and medium enterprise support

Main theoretical definition of small and medium enterprise (SME) and its significant role in the economy are presented in the introduction of this thesis. Next chapter focuses on forms of state support of SME export, international rules for state export support and application of the state export support in the Czech Republic. The Czech export bank (CEB) is presented in the practice part of this thesis as one of the state export support's pillars. Since 2009, based on The Government National Anti-Crisis Plan's request, CEB services more SME's then in the past, although such function is not the main focus of its activities. Bank created specialized SME department and devoted exceptional resources for SME support in an amount of 2 milliards CZE. Newly created department started offering newly created Programs of SME support (specifically Program of SME support - exporter, Program of SME - subcontractor, export-supporting guarantee), closer cooperation with factoring agencies and The Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation EGAP. Conclusion part concerns future of SME support in CEB and resources, which SME department uses to obtain relevant information about their current and potential SME customer needs. This part includes outcomes of CEB's researches focused on exporting SMEs as well.
