National mass transportation productivity
Novák, Ivan ; Vokoun, Marek (advisor) ; Štípek, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis is trying to answer some questions regarding national mass transportation in Czech Republic. Its goal is to provide a market analysis and show to what extend is productivity dependent on a form of ownership, which it will subsequently compare between individual means of transportation. The theoretical part focuses on ongoing liberalization of the railway market and tries to find similarities in the already open market of road transportation. Analytical part is using a regression analysis and in connection with theoretical context shows what effects do individual means of transportation have on productivity. Those regression models show decreasing returns of labor. Next the models also show that private ownership is effective and point out that railway transportation doesn't have to be ineffective which some could assume.
