Boško Tokin's work in the context of the Serbian avant-garde

The bachelor thesis aims to describe and interpret the fundamental vectors of creative initiative of the Serbian avant-garde artist, film critic, and publicist Boško Tokin. Tokin emerges as one of the most complex avant-garde creators in the context of Serbian avant-garde history, successfully revitalizing and transforming the forms of Serbian interwar culture both practically and theoretically, without unnecessary gestures or affectation. This thesis will approach his work in this manner. The focus will be on Tokin's significant and unmistakable role as a member of the avant- garde group associated with the magazine "Zenit". He was not only a novelist and poet but also a prominent publicist and film critic. The constants of his various activities will be presented. The highlight of the content will be the reflection on his novel "Terazije", which will undergo thorough analysis.
