Activities of a general nurse at standard medical unit

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of nurses' activities working on a standard internal ward. The theoretical part focuses on the description of internal medicine and internal illnesses. It also contains a description of the departments division, nursing problems of patients with an internal illness and the concept of missed nursing care. The theoretical part ends with the description of nurses competence by the law 391/2017Sb. The second part of the thesis, the empirical part, focuses on documenting activities of nurses on a standard internal ward during their shift using an ethnographical method which enabled me to capture and examine these activities in detail. This bachelor's thesis studies the documentation activities of nurses and the quantity of entries they have to record during a single shift. The aim of the work is to detail what types of records nurses make, what kind of forms they fill in, and how much time they spend doing documentation. The theoretical part focuses on medical documentation and on the documentation kept in the health care facilities where the observations were made and the data was collected. The empirical part describes the format of record entries and provides example entries with measurements of the time spent recording them. The aim of the ethnographic research was to understand the activities and reasons that lead nurses to make these entries. Keeping records about nursing care at medical department

The thesis is focused on the characteristics, purpose and principles of medical documentation. The theoretical part describes the partial activities of keeping records of the nursing process in practice. The practical part is divided into two chapters. The content of the first part is collection of informations about possibilities of keeping the documentation from 1976 to 2010. The second part deals with qualitative research in the form of ethnographic research. For the collection of data, was chosen the method of direct observation of the nurses from the department of neurology at the regional hospital. The attention was focused on measuring the time consuming of administrative tasks. The aim of the thesis was to find out the time-consuming task of keeping the documentation in the individual activities, what part of the working time is devoted to the administration. Role of a nurse in general anestesia

This work deals with roles of an anaesthesiology nurse during applying total anaesthesia. It was carried out in a way of a qualitative research through observations. The theoretical part deals with the history of anaesthesiology, different types of anaesthesia, introduction to equipment and accessories needed for total anaesthesia. In the practical part there are defined individual activities of an anaesthesiology nurse based on a qualitative research. Nursing care of a patient after PCI with a focus on STEMI

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the nursing care of a patient after PCI with a focus on STEMI. The first part is focused on the diagnosis of an acute myocardial infarction and other related issues. The second part is a case report of a patient after an acute myocardial infarction treated with PCI. This part pays special attention to the nursing problems related to the disease and the intervention. Especially the potential risks of arrhytmia, contrast-induced nefropathy and bleeding are addressed. The education regarding healthier lifestyle of a patient is further elaborated. Evaluation of kinetic workload of nursing staff by using a pedometer

This bachelor thesis deals with kinetic workload of nursing staff in internal and surgical clinics. The theoretical part introduces an overview of findings of physical load, its consequences and prevention. Another component of the theoretical part describes handling of loads and patients in health care and the applicable legislation in the Czech republic. The research part focuses on walk monitoring, determines how nursing staff handle patients and how to take care of their health. Thesis seeks to uncover the effects of physical exercise of staff working in departments where research was conducted. The investigation was aimed at nurses, enrolled nurses, assistants and attendants. The research confirmed the high physical stress of nursing staff in all surveyed clinics. Part of the results is also expressed disaffection of nursing staff with the footwear provided by the hospital.

Multidisciplinary care of a patient with breast cancer

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to describe the whole very difficult pathway of women with breast cancer diagnosis. The diagnosis which nobody wants to hear. I have found a lot of thesis about radiotherpy, about chemoterapy, about surgical themes or psychological problems associated with treatment. However, the breast cancer is so complex disease, which can affect lymphatic system, skeletal system, brain, lungs or liver, that it is impossible to divide phases of therapy. We can say with a little hyperbole that one doctor is no doctor. Multidisciplinary care and treatment is absolutely necessery, something, what we can't overview, because surgeon or oncologist without pathologist or radiologist is like a paraplegic. The thesis is divided into chapters, every chapter characterizes one phase of treatment and describes cure process of patient with special type of breast cancer - triple negative carcinom. The thesis focus on the description of the breast cancer diagnosis, its risk factors, epidemiology and describe treatment and nursing care through the whole spectrum of therapy. There is theoretical basis, multidisciplinary team decisions, psychological frame and main nursing diagnosis of appropriate phase of treatment in the each chapter.
