Dolní Počernice at the End of the World War II

This bachelor thesis deals with the modern history of the Prague district of Dolní Počernice. Specifically, it focuses on the last months of World War II. The goal is to summarize and describe the selected historical period and all important events that preceded it. The work also very marginally includes events in neighboring municipalities. It also describes, for example, activities of resistance in Dolní Počernice during the Second World War and its important figures or we can find information about air raids taking place at the end of the war in the Protectorate, or a detailed description of the last days of the war. A comparative method of archive materials and literature was used to achieve the goal. And I also used a personal experience from talking to witnesses of this era helped to write the thesis. The work was also written for the purpose of practical use in local educational institutions, for example during civics or history classes.
