The effect of dynamic neuromusculur stabilization on motor deficit in patients after stroke
Zelenková, Jana ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Demeková, Júlia (referee)
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of specific rehabilitation concept on the motor deficit in patients after stroke. This concept is used at the Department of inpatient rehabilitation FN Motol, the main component is exercise on the principles of dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS) and is based on the principles of developmental kinesiology. The study included 12 patients after stroke. Probands participated in the 3 week therapy, exercise was carried out twice a day. Significant (p <0.05) improvement in motor function of the arm, hand, leg and foot was demonstrated by using Student`s paired t-test. There was a statistically significant improvement in postural control and reducing shoulder pain (all assessed using a specific scale: Chedoke McMaster Stroke Assessment). Changes in the degree of spasticity were evaluated by Modified Ashworth scale. A statistically significant improvement in the degree of spasticity was observed in these muscle groups: the elbow flexors , adductors of lower limb, knee extensors and hamstrings. It has been shown that the concept of dynamic neuromuscular stabilization can be advantageously used in selected patients after stroke. It is appropriate to supplement the DNS therapy with training of ADL.
Influence of deep brain stimulation on postural stability in patients with Parkinson disease
Zelenková, Jana ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Zárubová, Kateřina (referee)
Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease of the basal ganglia. Its main symptoms are rigidity, tremor, bradykinesia, hypokinesia and postural instability. One possible way how to infuence diseases is neurosurgical treatment - deep brain stimulation. The principle is the implantation of electrodes in the basal ganglia and modulation of activity of the basal ganglia circuits due to electrical stimulation. Stimulation affects the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. This thesis deals with the influence of deep brain stimulation on postural stability in patients with Parkinson's disease.
Predisposing factors of allergies XV.
Zelenková, Jana ; Jílek, Petr (advisor) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (referee)
Jana Zelenková Predisposing Factors of Allergies Diploma thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Pharmacy Background: We were monitoring incidence frequency of allergic rhinitis symptoms by the seniors. Further we tried to find out the main predisposition factors of allergic rhinitis. Main findings: We completed the questionnaires with respondents from Hradec Králové senior's home. Through evaluation of the answers we found out the 21% incidence frequency of allergic rhinitis symptoms. The passive smoking and a long-term occurrence in a polluted or dangerous environment (i.e. the environment with a high quantity of dust, pollen, moulds etc.) appeared as main predisposition factors of allergic rhinitis. More frequented symptom incidence of allergic rhinitis we determined by persons born in spring or autumn period in age group from 80 to 89 years and by respondents living in their childhood in a countryside and by female. Respondents with allergic rhinitis incidence made often breathing difficulties known. Conclusion: The allergic rhinitis symptoms are not the problem only among young population but we can meet them plenteously as well by the seniors.

The diploma thesis deals with an emotional state called fear and it's pathological form - phobia. The thesis is focused on frequency and form of fears of pupils in older school age and on influence of these fears on teaching of Natural Sciences. The analysis of educational field of Natural Sciences, the interview and the questionnaire investigation of pupils were used in the diploma thesis. On the basis of research results I suggested basic recommendations for teachers who meet pupils with fear or specific phobia during classes. The diploma thesis uses methods of qualitative and quantitative research.
Protection of the privacy of patients in Gynaecology and Maternity department
Zajíčková, Markéta ; Haškovcová, Helena (advisor) ; Zelenková, Jana (referee)
This presented master's thesis deals with the protection of the privacy of patients in hospitals. This thesis is divided into two chapters. The first one is called Literature part, and deals with the explanation of such terms like patient, description of the relation between a patient and a doctor, and description of historical development of this relation. It also deals with the problems connected with the stay of patient in hospital and with explanation of the term of privacy. It is interested in protection of privacy in Czech legislative norms and profession ethics codeces, witch are connected with the rights of patients. The second chapter is Practical part and it describes the process of determination of the real status of the protection of privacy of patients at Gynaecology and Maternity of one hospital in the Czech Republic. There were used the technics of quantitative research for gathering datas from this department such as questionnaire, observation and unformal dilogues. This research was aimed at two populations The first one was formed by paramedics and the second one by patients. This research coclusion was that all the paramedics taking part in this project, know the etics codex The Rights of Patients, but almost half of them does not know the document The Convention on Human Rights and...
Approaches to the measurement of poverty in EU
Zelenková, Jana ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (advisor) ; Ševčíková, Michaela (referee)
This thesis focuses on current approaches to the measurement of poverty. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate if measuring poverty indicators and quality of life indicators used by United Nations Development Programme and Eurostat are meaningful enough. The theoretical part is an analysis of chosen indicators. The theoretical knowledge is followed by practical part, comparing poverty levels in member states of the European Union, and giving deeper insight into the analysis of sub-indicators. Furthermore, the thesis looks at informative value connected to mutual relations among the indicators. The comparison reveals that the level of human development is negatively related to aspects such as insufficient economic growth, inequality and low level of wealth redistribution. From an analytical point of view, new multi-criteria indicators are useful enough for the purpose of research on this topic, in spite of certain imperfections.
Spinnability of PEO solutions with respect to their aging
Zelenková, Jana ; Peer, Petra ; Filip, Petr
Non - negligible portion of pol ymer commodity suffers from ageing that participates in sometimes significant changes of products attributes. Rheology represents a useful tool for a description of this process. The aim of this contribution is to evaluate possible ageing of PEO solution ( polyethylen e oxide ( M w =300,000 g/mol) dissolved in water at 10 wt.% concentration) based both on rheological characterization and on quality of electrospun fibres. Rheological measurements in steady shear and oscillatory modes were carried out using a rota tional rheometer MCR 501 (Anton Paar, Austria) equipped with the concentric cylinders geometry. The electrospinning measurements were executed with the help of a proposed laboratory device. The tip - to - collector distance attained 20 cm, applied voltage rang ed from 20 to 30 kV. The obtained electrospun fibres were analysed using a scanning electron microscope (VEGA 3, Tescan, Czech Republic). Both types of measurements were carried out in the period of several months during which the solution studied was plac ed in a dark and tempered box (25°C). The measurements indicate no ageing impact on rheological characteristics or quality of electrospun fibres. This guarantees more or less the identical quality of non - woven textiles prepared from PEO solutions regardles s of time period during which the solutions are deposited.
Indicators of poverty and their construction
Zelenková, Jana ; Kubelková, Karina (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The thesis concerns issue of the economic growth or income as a sufficient indicator to size up poverty situation and its development. The aim of the thesis is to find poverty measurement possibilities and to describe consequently the differences in results related to the selected indicators. Income inequality index is presented as part of the thesis and also GDP values are emphasized. The thesis also covers practical calculation of Human Development Index (HDI) and Human Poverty Index (HPI). On the basis of empiric values concerning HDI and HPI published in UNDP materials, three EU member states were chosen on which calculation of mentioned indices is demonstrated and compared with situation in the Czech Republic in consequence. Further, differentiation results between HDP and HDI are presented. They point out to the rate at which the economic growth is efficiently used in favour of society that occupies an important position in the process of economic development.
