Development of crystal structure of (Er,Lu)2(Ti,Zr)2O7 materials
Zelenka, Jiří ; Klicpera, Milan (advisor) ; Kaštil, Jiří (referee)
The present thesis is focused on the development of a crystal structure of A2B2O7 materials, where A is a rare-earth element and B is a transition metal. These materials crystalize generally in four crystallography structures. The thesis is focused on structural transitions from an ordered cubic structure, so-called pyrochlore structure, to a fully disordered cubic structure, so-called defect- fluorite structure, to semi-ordered rhombohedral structure. Compared to previous studies, which dealt with these structural changes in A2Zr2O7 with the substitution of the rare-earth element, this thesis is focused on evolution of structure with a substitution on the B positions. For this research of the crystal structure evolution two series of oxides, Er2(Ti,Zr)2O7 and Lu2(Ti,Zr)2O7, have been selected. Twenty-one samples of those series were prepared by the floating zone method and Czochralski method. Analysis of prepared crystals was performed by using the Laue diffraction method and the powder diffraction methods. For the study, X-ray and neutron diffraction were utilized. A quality of the prepared materials and their crystal structure were studied with the respect to a concentration of Ti-Zr. The development of the crystal structure has been discussed. The thesis will serve as a ground for following research of...
Origins of intentionality and Husserl's late thinking
Zelenka, Jiří ; Novotný, Karel (advisor) ; Zika, Richard (referee)
This work aims to pursue the roots and sources of intentionality. Intentional structure of consciousness is the very core of Edmund Husserl's phenomenology and plays the main role since his Logical investigations. The problem of intentionality is complicated and complex and resonates through the Husserl lifelong work Our starting point is Husserl's late work Erfahrung und Urteil. The reason why we choose this work is twofold. First, this work shows the thoughts which result from the life long investigation of problematics. And the second reason is, this work hasn't been the subject of examination as much as Husserl's earlier works so far. The key to our work is the perspective in which every phenomenon shows. That's the reason, why we follow intentionality in three perspectives, which gradually uncovers itselves. The first perspective is the descent from acts of judgment to the original layers of intentionality. This brings us to the second perspective, which is the instinctive intentionality. This is the subject of following part of our work. The exposing of instinctive intentionality underlines the role of embodiment. The importance of embodiment in regard to intentionality is the final perspective. We investigate this with help of Maurice Merleau-Ponty Phenomenology of perception. This will...
Does LSTM neural network improve factor models' predictions of the European stock market?
Zelenka, Jiří ; Baruník, Jozef (advisor) ; Čech, František (referee)
This thesis wants to explore the forecasting potential of the multi-factor models to predict excess returns of the aggregated portfolio of the European stock mar- ket. These factors provided by Fama and French and Carhart are well-known in the field of asset pricing, we also add several financial and macroeconomic factors according to the literature. We establish a benchmark model of ARIMA and we compare the forecasting errors of OLS and the LSTM neural networks. Both models take the lagged excess returns and the inputs. We measure the performance with the root mean square error and mean absolute error. The results suggest that neural networks are in this particular task capable of bet- ter predictions given the same input as OLS but their forecasting error is not significantly lower according to the Diebold-Mariano test. Impact of the EU-wide stress tests results on market valuation of banks
Organic-Inorganic Polymer Nanocomposites
Ponyrko, Sergii ; Matějka, Libor (advisor) ; Krakovský, Ivan (referee) ; Zelenka, Jiří (referee)
The epoxy based polymer is one of the very common polymers, which was used as a host to create new better materials - nanocomposites. This thesis focused on the improvement of the thermomechanical properties of the epoxy thermosets without deteriorating their existing benefits and on further potential application of this knowledge in "smart" systems. The largest part of this work is dedicated to the reinforcement of epoxy thermosets by in situ generated silica and synthesis of organic-inorganic nanocomposites. Borontrifluoride monoethylamine (BF3MEA) was chosen as effective catalyst for the formation of nanosilica in epoxy-amine network matrix under nonaqueous (non-hydrolytic) sol-gel process. We proposed the mechanism of the nonaqueous sol-gel procedure, studied the structure evolution during the nanocomposite formation, and also determined the structure, morphology and thermomechanical properties of the obtained epoxy-silica nanocomposites. Significant attention in this work was given to the application of coupling agent and ionic liquids to improve compatibilization of the organic matrix and the inorganic part. As a result of the nonaqueous sol-gel process optimization by combination of the tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) and the coupling agent glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GTMS), the high-Tg and...
Various ways to artificial guitar playing
Vrtiška, Vojtěch ; RAK, Štěpán (advisor) ; ZELENKA, Jiří (referee)
Master´s thesis takes interest in basic technical and psychological prerequisites for reaching artificial guitar playing. The ways of solving technical questions are shown from historical and contemporary view. This thesis contains the comparison of Segovia?s and Tennant?s methods with my personal evaluation. In the case of playing position together with right and left-hand technique I add my own remarks and proposals.
