Selected german publishing groups in the czech press market in 1990's with a focus on development trends of czech periodical press
Zavadilová, Anna ; Köppl, Daniel (advisor) ; Lysoněk, Tomáš (referee)
The submitted Master's thesis conducts a survey of activities of selected German publishing groups on the Czech public press market. The thesis focuses on activities of the companies: Rheinisch-Bergische Druckerei- und Verlagsgesellschaft, the former owner of the company MAFRA which publishes the daily newspaper Mladá fronta DNES, Verlagsgruppe Passau, the owner of the company VLTAVA-LABE-PRESS which publishes the regional Deník and also the company Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt which has a share in the company Economia which publishes the newspaper Hospodářské noviny. The topic of this thesis is their arrival to the Czech press market, implementation of new press standards, and changes in structure and functioning of selected newspapers and especially new trends in development of Czech newspapers in 1990s and at the beginning of the 21st century. Apart from examination of origins of the success of German publishing groups on the Czech press market and characteristics of the given period of time, the thesis presents information arising from interviews with executives of selected German publishing groups. The interviews were conducted while using methods of oral history and qualitative research. The main topics of the interviews were: reasons why the companies decided to enter the Czech press market,...
Principal components
Zavadilová, Anna ; Hlávka, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Nagy, Stanislav (referee)
This thesis presents principal components as a useful tool for data dimensio- nality reduction. In the first part, the basic terminology and theoretical properties of principal components are described and a biplot construction is derived there as well. Besides, heuristic methods for a choice of the optimum number of prin- cipal components are summarised there. Subsequently, asymptotical properties of sample eigenvalues of covariance and white Wishart matrices are described and cases of equality of some eigenvalues are distinguished at the same time. In the second part of the thesis, asymptotic distribution of the largest eigenva- lue of white Wishart matrices is described, completed with graphic illustrations. A test of the number of significant eigenvalues is suggested on the basis of this limiting distribution, and the connection of this test to the number of suitable principal components is presented. The final part of the thesis provides an over- view of advanced computational methods for the choice of an adequate number of principal components. The thesis is completed with graphical illustrations and a simulation study using Wolfram Mathematica and R.
Proměny zeleninových záhonů během vegetačního období
Zavadilová, Anna
In the vegetation period of 2014 at the experimental field of ZF MENDELU Lednice was started experimental flowerbed which was divided into three parts - Bed of stalk and leaf vegetables, flowerbed of climbing crop plants and flowerbed of unusual vegetables. The aim of this study was to investigate and evaluate the aesthetic transformation of ornamental vegetable beds during the growing season. For the matter was compiled literature search. On the basis of knowledge and experience in the cultivation experiment was evaluated and interpreted with the use of its results in the further practice. Best suited vegetable taxa were selected for its successful cultivation of ornamental vegetable beds in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic and for its aesthetic effect in ornamental flowerbed over a long period of time. Keywords: monastery gardens, culinary and medicinal plants, kitchen garden, ornamental vegetable beds, potager, vegetables.
Analysis of variance when the assumption of homoscedasticity is violated
Zavadilová, Anna ; Omelka, Marek (advisor) ; Komárek, Arnošt (referee)
The method known as analysis of variance of simple sort offers a possibility of how to test equality of mean values of several random selections. At the same time, however, it requires the random selections to originate from normal distribution and to meet the condition of homoscedasticity, i.e. the requirement of identity of variances. The aim of this Thesis is to analyse consequences of violation of the assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity of the input data. The first part of the Thesis presents an overview of the course of the method based on the analysis of variance with standard assumptions. It is followed by the deriving of asymptotic distribution of test statistics, supposing the validity of the null hypothesis of identity of mean values in the case that neither the normality of input data nor the identity of variances is supposed. The findings are then applied to several special cases. The final part of the Thesis deals with a simulation study describing the influence of non-fulfilment of assumptions imposed on the test significance level. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Competition of adjective suffixes -ný and -telný in contemporary Czech language
Zavadilová, Anna ; Adam, Robert (advisor) ; Lehečková, Eva (referee)
The submitted bachelor thesis examines the competition of adjective suffixes -ný and -telný at adjectives potentially affected by an action. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part presents a general definition of adjectives, word formation of adjectives potentially affected by an action as well as their detailed characteristics. The chosen adjectives, let us say adjective pairs or triplets, are analyzed in a written language corpus which is also defined at the beginning of the practical part. The emphasis is placed on the frequence of these adjectives and their distribution in terms of both collocability and style. The experience is based on analysis of adjective pairs such as nedílný - nedělitelný, nedobytný - nedobytelný, nedostižný - nedostižitelný, nedostupný - nedostupitelný, neodkladný - neodkladatelný, (neodkládatelný), neodložitelný, neodlučný - neodlučitelný, neodvratný - neodvratitelný, neohebný (neohybný) - neohýbatelný (neohybatelný), nenasytný - nenasytitelný, nepitný - nepitelný, nepopěrný - nepopiratelný (nepopíratelný), nepostižný - nepostižitelný - nepostihnutelný, nepřípustný - nepřipustitelný, nerozbitný - nerozbitelný, nerozlučný - nerozloučitelný - nerozlučitelný, nerozpustný - nerozpustitelný, nesdělný - nesdělitelný, nesklonný - nesklonitelný -...
Development of line advertising in journals from the point of view of text and theme analysis based on comparison between journals Lidová demokracie (in 1968 and 1988) and Lidové noviny (in 1998 and 2008)
Zavadilová, Anna ; Köppl, Daniel (advisor) ; Gerbery, Juraj (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of line advertising in journals. It is divided into theoretical and practical parts while the development is described on the basis of textual and thematic analysis of line advertising in journals Lidová demokracie and Lidové noviny. In the thematic analysis the work focusses on the volume of advertisements and specifically whether and when it rises (or drops). The textual analysis tries to record language and orthography norms as they evolved. The work is also focused on vocabulary changing and advertisers' active vocabulary. The corpus of researched material comes from years 1968 and 1988 of Lidová demokracie, always first week of March, June, September and December and the same months of Lidové noviny from years 1998 and 2008. Both journals can be paralleled because of their relatively comparable edition, number of readers and position on the newspaper market. On the basis of practical comparation of the analysis a demonstration of the line advertisement is made. The theoretical part describes briefly history of advertisement including the censorship in the second half of the 20th century. Further it deals with legislatives measures and actual principles of advertisement in the Czech Republic. It is also accompanied by basic principles of...
