Pěstebně-ekonomická analýza listnatých mlazin s různou příměsí dubu vzniklých kombinovanou a umělou obnovou
Zapletal, Miroslav
Abstract of the work This thesis deals with the growth characteristics of oak at the stage of coppice that was based in different variants depending on the type of mixing and method of recovery (combined, artificial). The research areas are located in Kostelec woods which is about 7 km from the Holešov town in the district of Kroměříž. In total there are five areas evaluated, the area (I, II) Option 1 - monoculture and area (III - V) Option 2 - mixed (combined and artificial regeneration). Crops were chosen so as they are the same age, only the area V is older and without silvicultural intervention. The measurement of tree species was carried out in each alternative on the pad of 3.14 m2 (r = 1 m) in a regular grid of 5x5 m. On each space were measured height, výčetní tloušťka a cenotické postavení of all trees and quality of the treetop. Collected data are recorded in tables and graphs. The results of the thesis show that the oaks in option (1) in all the above parameters are better than in the variant (2).

The methodology brings about new and practical approaches in assessment of five ecosystem functions and services of town greenery. It covers four regulation functions (microclimate regulation, carbon sequestration, pollution and noise reduction) and one information function (aesthetic and cultural-recreation). The calculus is based on a single greenery object evaluation using simplified biophysical and statistic models, however complying with all natural principles. The models utilize data standardly available in urban greenery passports and those which are accessible via map servers, e.g. meteorological situation and sociodemographic conditions.

Analysis of properties of openings with respect to infiltration in buildings
Zapletal, Miroslav ; Klepárník,, Jan (referee) ; Polášek,, Josef (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The dissertation thesis is primarily focused on the analysis of the properties of openings constructions with respect to infiltration in constructions, specifically related to the permeability of opening fillings and the permeability of buildings. The main aim of this work is to find out how the overall air permeability of a building can be influenced in relation to the openings and their properties, which are related specifically to the air permeability at the specified tightening degree of the used all-round fitting. In relation to the overall air permeability of the building, the energy balance of a particular building will be calculated in cooperation with the determined results of the air permeability of the building at a defined degree of tightening of used all-round fitting at levels 0%, 50% and 100%. The results of tests and measurements will be reflected in a concrete calculation of the energy balance of the assessed building in the form of numerical simulation.
Voskové směsi pro restaurování historických voskových pečetí
Bílková, Lenka ; Bartl, Benjamin ; Urbánek, Štěpán ; Zapletal, Martin ; Holakovská, Libuše
A large number of historic wax seals have been preserved in a fragmented state, which is linked to the increase in hardness and brittleness that sealing waxes undergo during natural ageing. The immediate cause of mechanical damage is careless handling or improper storage of archival records. This methodology compares the properties of both traditional and some alternative wax mixtures that are applicable for conservation of damaged seals. The aim is to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of using each of them, making it easier for conservators to choose a material that will meet their specific requirements. Chapter 2 first discusses the general requirements for such materials, from a technological, practical and ethical point of view. Chapter 3 deals with the properties of beeswax and the possibilities of their modification by the addition of other substances. Chapter 4 then discusses the new possibilities that open up the use of fossil wax mixtures. The chapters are supplemented by specific examples and recommendations.

Vertical profile of concentration and flow of aerosol particles over arable land
Zapletal, Miloš ; Hovorka, J. ; Hladík, J. ; Juráň, Stanislav
At present, the immission load of the territory and population by solid / liquid or mixed particles with the size of 1 nm - 100 μm suspended in the atmosphere, or PM, is one of the biggest problems not only in the Czech Republic but practically throughout Europe. High PM concentrations are associated with a large number of health problems. These include respiratory disorders and an increased risk of lung and skin cancer (WHO, 2006). In the Czech Republic, long-term exposure to PM is an important factor responsible for reducing the quality of life of the population. Among the most serious effects in terms of overall health burden is a significant reduction in life expectancy (WHO, 2006). Transport and industrial activities are generally considered to be the main source of PM10 particles. Existing information on the chemical composition, size distribution, secondary particle fraction and deposition flux of particles on different types of surfaces is still incomplete. Aerosol concentration measurements have been performed in many cities at street level or for personal exposure assessment (Kaur et al., 2005, Longley et al., 2004). Eddy covariance measurements of particulate emission flux over large urban agglomerations were performed (Dorsey et al., 2002, Järvi et al., 2009, Martin et al., 2009, Deventer et al., 2013). Direct measurement of the emission flux of the eddy particles by the covariation method provided information on the upward air flow and vertical particle exchange over some urban agglomerations (eg Manchester, London, Helsinki). A description of the measurement of the eddy particle flow by the covariance method from an aircraft is given in Buzorius et al. (2006). Less information exists on the emission flux of particles above different types of sources at different heights, eg above arable land, opencast coal mine or local fireplaces.
Measured and modelled fluxes of tropospheric ozone in mountainous Norway spruce forest
Juráň, Stanislav ; Zapletal, Miloš ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Cudlín, Pavel ; Urban, Otmar
Tropospheric ozone fluxes (O3) were measured in Norway spruce forest at Bily Kriz, Czech Republic by eddy covariance technique. Within-canopy concentration gradient was measured by APOA-370 analysers (Horiba, Japan) in 7m, 25m and 30m above ground. Fluxes of O3 were modelled from the concentration gradient by applying Inverse Lagrangian Transport Model (Raupach, 1989). Next, O3 fluxes were modelled on the basis of resistent analogy. Ozone flux measured by eddy covariance technique amounted up to 1.19 nmol m-2 s-1 on daily average and the lowest -0.75 nmol m-2 s-1. Studied forest stand was net sink for ozone in 7.14 mmol m-2 per day (=0.343 g m-2 per day). The highest ozone emission peaked during noon hours, suggesting closure of stomata due to low air temperature and ozone production due to sufficient radiation. Both models proved to be imprecise when compared to measured data in autumn-winter transition period.
Guidebook to care of localities of endangered butterflies and moths in the Czech Republic
Konvička, Martin ; Beneš, Jiří ; Spitzer, Lukáš ; Bartoňová, Alena ; Zapletal, Michal
This methodology concerns the care of the biotopes of butterflies (Lepidoptera) included in the Red List of Invertebrates of the Czech Republic. It deals with day and night butterflies from the traditional „Macrolepidoptera“ group. It describes the principles of various types of care for butterfly habitats, and also management principles for particular biotope types. The other part of the methodology defines the areas of the Czech Republic, which are priority for the protection of species of interest. For selected location there is management designed.
