The importance of spirituality in social work
ZEJDOVÁ, Veronika
This bachelor's thesis is dealing with the meaning of Christian spirituality in the context of social work. Emphasis is put on Christianity on which the charity social work is based on. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the meaning of Christian spirituality in social work and to show the correlation between these two components. The way this form of spirituality is functioning when applied on the process of help will be based on the chosen literature and I will also be finding out whether social work can build its meaning on Christian spirituality. Based on considerable correlations I will show how exactly does Christian spirituality benefit the motivation (to practice this service) of social workers and how social workers can work with their clients' spirituality. Next, I will deal with the lives and accomplishments of female saints, namely Agnes of Bohemia and Mother Theresa. Due to their Christian faith, both women devoted their lives to Jesus Christ and helping of the poor and needy.
