How Application of Similar Instruments Influence the Form of Computer Games and Cinema, Is There a Convergence?

The goal of thesis is to analyze agrements and diferences, which originate in fields of movies and computer games, in case of use of similar technical instruments. The text describes historic developement of both of media and its expressive instruments. This thesis is simultaneously focused on points of contact of movies and games - its technical instruments and its utilisation. Thesis also refers to mutual inspiration between both medias and also analyses crucial diferences in specific methods of movie a and computer games naration.
Information systems and visualization - overview and analysis

Tématem diplomové práce jsou informační systémy využívající informační vizualizaci a její metody. Cílem práce je analýza a hodnocení vybraných vizualizovaných informačních systémů a shrnutí metod a teoretických východisek těchto systémů. V první části se práce zaměřuje na úvod do vznikajícího oboru. Druhá část je věnována vzniku a vývoji informační vizualizace ve třetí část se práce zabývá problematikou komunikace člověkpočítač, interakcí uživatele s grafickým rozhraním, animací a základními vizualizačními technikami na pozadí kognitivní vědy a psychologie. Dále je pojednáno o problematice vizuálního průzkumu. Čtvrtá část obsahuje funkční příklady vybraných informačních systémů. Obsahuje jejich principy fungování, základní vlastnosti, principy fungování a potenciální přínos pro uživatele. Poslední část shrnuje obsah diplomové práce a předkládá možnosti budoucího využití, konstatuje malou rozšířenost informační vizualizace a předkládá obavy o vlastní užitečnosti informační vizualizace. Web graphics and webdesign

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou tvorby webových stránek. Nahlíží na tento jev jak z hlediska ergonomického, tak z hlediska použitelnosti stránek a jejich základní estetické zdařilosti. Snaží se o analýzu obecně platných pravidel, kterými se lze řídit při tvorbě webu, ať už ryze osobního, či webu komerčního. Práce je zhruba dělena do třech tématických okruhů. Informační architektura webových stránek, která je věnována prvotnímu návrhu a struktuře vznikajícího webu. Následuje část věnující se samotné grafické části webu. Objasňuje možné problémy při tvorbě internetových stránek a upozorňuje na nejčastější chyby a špatné postupy při programování stránek. Závěrečná část je zaměřena na problematiku testování webu skupinou uživatelů před jeho uvedením do plného provozu. [Autorský abstrakt].
Web 2.0 and Blogs and their Impact on (Internet) Communication Evolution

Tématem diplomové práce je fenomén internetových služeb označovaných jako Web 2.0, blogy a jejich vliv na internetovou komunikaci. Cílem práce je vymezit pojem Web 2.0, definovat pojem blog, zmapovat významné aplikace a služby a popsat jejich jednotlivé charakteristické vlastnosti a technologie ve vztahu k Web 2.0, zjistit, jak jsou největšími blogy dodržovány standardy W3C, popsat a prakticky ukázat vznik blogu při použití skriptovacích jazyků. První část práce je věnována definicím a charakteristice Webu 2.0. V centru pozornosti jsou především jednotlivé aspekty, které se ve Web 2.0 aplikacích vyskytují (sociální sítě, uživatelský obsah, tagování, Long tail atd.). Další část nastiňuje technologie používané Web 2.0 aplikacemi, především sleduje rozvoj technologií a standardů pro zobrazování a výměnu webových obsahů (AJAX, API mash-upy, XML feedy a mikroformáty) a jejich dopad na vyhledávání a identifikaci, a také systému pro vytváření digitální identity. Ve třetí části práce se definují blogy a zkoumá se jejich využití konečnými uživateli a společnostmi. Sleduje se, jakým způsobem blogy a blogeři ovlivnili internetovou komunikaci, založenou na vzájemné důvěře. The topic of this graduation thesis is a description and evaluation of the role change of a Television News journalist with the transition to the tape-less technology production. This work further focuses on eventual benefits and diversification of new journalistic techniques for both a journalist and a user, and analyses new possibilities connected with server and network technology usage. At the end of this graduation thesis there are mentioned some possible expectations in trends of Television News production.

This diploma thesis aims to provide a general overview of the issue of IP video transmission. First chapter gives in-dept introduction of the technical side of video streaming and online video generally and its functions. The second part presents the main roles of theusers and genres in this field and it also show the main social aspects of the online video technologies. The aim of the third chapter is to refer to the current use of technology and to its possible further usage. In the fourth chapter, we look closely at the streaming video trough the perspective of classical media theory, media philosophy, and also from the sociological point of view.
"Democratization of mass media" - influence penetration amateur contributions to traditional media

Cílem diplomové práce je charakterizovat současný stav a podobu masmédií s přihlédnutím na jejich rostoucí demokratizaci. Autor sleduje a popisuje stále výraznější pronikání amatérů do tradičních médií, které se děje prostřednictvím nových internetových médií jako jsou weblogy nebo online video. Při zkoumání problematiky weblogů autor částečně navazuje na vlastní bakalářskou práci "Weblog jako novodobý elektronický informační zdroj". Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí. První část Tradiční média se zabývá klasickými médii - tiskem, rozhlasem a televizí. Druhá a nejrozsáhlejší část Novodobá internetová média sleduje nové formy multimediální komunikace, které s sebou přináší rozvoj internetu. Je rozčleněna na čtyři kapitoly popisující weblogy, online video, sociální sítě a wiki systémy. V třetí části Demokratizace masmédií autor hodnotí aktuální trendy v oblasti masmédií, věnuje se zvýšené aktivitě uživatelů a zabývá se také problematikou cenzury médií.
DSLR Video and its Impact on the Conventions in Filmmaking

The thesis deals with the involvement of digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLR) with video-capturing capacity in documentary and ethnographic film, more particularly, it examines whether and to what extent these genres were influenced by a trend called DSLR revolution. The main contribution of the work is a qualitative analysis of the testimonies of ten filmmakers, who used DSLR cameras while working on their films during the years 2010-2014. The synthesis of this analysis is conceptualised as a reconstruction of the process of decision-making whether to use or not to use a DSLR camera, considering its benefits (affordability, technical and aesthetic qualities, compactness and simplicity) and its limits (ergonomics, visual artifacts, workflow limits). The reconstruction of this decision-making process is considered in the context of specific experiences of the participants and it focuses on the impact of DSLRs on filming workflow and final product. The final chapter deals with the DSLR revolution as a social trend which was stimulated by the influence of online communities of DSLR filmmakers who actively participated in the course of the revolution.
