Jonáková, Eva ; Žikovská, Petra (referee) ; Wünschová Pujmanová, Alexandra (referee)
57 Summary The subject of my graduation thesis is "The ban and restriction of certain types of conventional weapons in armed conflicts". First, it was necessary to define that as conventional weapons are understood all weapons not being weapons of mass destruction, to explain that the ban and restrictions can take many different forms, and finally, to define, to which kind of armed conflicts the humanitarian rules are to be applied. A brief review of the advance on the field of ban and restrictions of certain conventional weapons has been given, including the historical context. From medieval times, when the only international authority, capable of at least trying to moderate the horrors of war, was the pope, over the first agreements of "civilised nations" in the times before the World War I, to the modern conventions adopted after World War II. Great attention is paid to the Declaration of St.Petersburg and to the so-called law of Hague (consisting of many agreements, today a part of the customary law), which as the first documents state, that the progress of civilization should have the effect of alleviating as much as possible the calamities of war, and they contain the prohibition of use of weapons which uselessly aggravate the sufferings and the Hague law even the prohibition of non-discriminating use...

The establishment of the Copyright Law marked the end of a tortuous road that had snaked through the Mao era and spanned the entire first half of the reform era as well."1 And let us add that the following course taken towrds the establishment of a Chinese copyright law system was not quite less dramatic, and neither is the situation of the Chinese copyright law at present. This thesis by no means aspires to cover, to contrast and compare in an exhaustive manner, the whole of both the Czech and Chinese copyright law systems (or, since both the countries draw their theoretical grounds more or less from the continental copyright doctrine, "right of autorship" systems) currently in force. That would be a task better suited for a work aspiring on higher academic titles than the magisterial one. The goal of this work is, first, to sum up the complicated genesis of the said branch of law (during which it discusses the ongoing...

Resumé - Collective management of author's and neighboring rights Key words: collective management; author's rights This thesis is focused on phenomen of collective administration of authors' and neighboring rights. Collective way of administration of intellectual property is a traditional method how the right holders can collect the royalties in order to be rewarded and how the right holders can be able to enforce their rights. Some advantages derived from Collective administration can also bring a benefit even to common users.
