Holasová, Anežka ; Oulíková, Petra (advisor) ; Vymazalová, Marie (referee)
Fresco works by Lukáš Vávra in South Bohemia This diploma thesis is devoted to the work of the late Baroque fresco painter, and Vyšší Brod Cistercian, Lukáš Vávra. His artistic legacy has not yet been documented in its entirety, nor has it been examined historically. This thesis is the first effort in this direction. It is based on data drawn mainly from the Historical Archive of the Vyšší Brod Monastery, as well as from other archival sources. Vávra's works are included in this discussion, especially the frescoes in the monasteries of Vyšší Brod and Zlatá Koruna, as well as framed paintings that have been preserved. With the help of relevant respected sources, Vávra's artistic endeavors are then placed in the cultural and historical context of Southern Bohemia. This relates primarily to the Schwarzenberg Dominions in South Bohemia as well as the environment of the South Bohemian Cistercian monasteries in Vyšší Brod and in Zlatá Koruna.

An important chapter is also the piety of the Czech lands in the Baroque period, which demonstrates the revival of the veneration of St. Francis during the 17th and 18th centuries in Bohemia. All the above-mentioned parts provide the basis for the following chapters on specific illustrations. The iconography of the individual scenes is first described in a general depiction, including the world's most important examples. A large part of the work is devoted to individual works associated with the Czech environment. Depiction of Apollo on Baroque Ceiling Painting
Ungrová, Eva ; Oulíková, Petra (advisor) ; Vymazalová, Marie (referee)
The Depiction of Apollo on Baroque murals The theme of the diploma thesis is the depiction of Apollo in Baroque frescoes. The figure of the antique God of Sun appears in our country most often in Baroque residences in several different themes. Apollo with his sun chariot is closely connected with the solar theme - due to its location in space, it refers us to the daily cyclicality. Apollo with his sun chariot, same as Aurora symbolizes an allegory of the arrival of a new day. We most often find this theme in halls and staircases, but also in Sala terrena. Specific examples can be seen, for example, in Náměšť nad Oslavou, where Apollo announces a new day, or in Slavkov u Brna where we find several paintings connected with daily cyclicality, and in the Sale terrain in Děčín as an example of outdoor decoration. Some rulers also identified with the god Apollo, so his figure is also present in some frescoes celebrating his client. We meet such an example in the Clam-Gallas Palace in Prague or in the Hall of the Ancestors of the chateau in Vranov nad Dyjí. Apollo with the Muses presents a celebration of art. In our country, for example, at the chateau Nové Město nad Metují, but also in the Prague Klementinum in a baroque library hall, where Apollo is on a side fresco on Mount Parnassus. Apollo often...
Women Wedding Dress in Renaissance Portraits of Czech Noblewomen
Kronusová, Pavlína ; Jarošová, Markéta (advisor) ; Vymazalová, Marie (referee)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate the noblewomen's Renaissance wedding attire in Czech fine arts. Based on the analysis of selected examples, i.e portrait paintings by Perchta of Rožmberk, Polyxena of Pernštejn and Anna Marie Šliková, the development of the fashion of wedding attire in the Czech environment will be described, which will then be compared with important foreign Renaissance wedding portraits of noble ladies. Attention will be paid to the stylistic evaluation of the paintings from the NPÚ collections, which are now part of the exhibition of Czech and Moravian castles, as well as the analysis of textiles, jewelry, hairstyles and other decorative parts of clothing decoration that present a certain iconographic significance. Wedding attire will be analyzed in the broader context of contemporary fashion, including everyday attire. From a methodological point of view, the work is based on a formal analysis of Renaissance paintings, an iconographic interpretation of the evaluation of the details of wedding attire, as well as on cultural and historical contexts. Keywords Women's wedding clothing, portraits of noblewomen, clothing development, renaissance fashion, clothing in Bohemia
