Political marketing in the municipal elections 2010: The Case study Karvina

The thesis examines the influence of political marketing on the election results of municipal elections in Karvina in 2010. The first part focuses on the theory of political marketing. The next section defines municipal elections according to the law and presents the historic overview of the election results of local elections in Karviná since the foundation of Czech Republic, depending on the national political situation. The final chapter analyzes technics of political propagation and campaign themes.
British Euroscepticism: case "euro"

The aim of this work is to provide an analysis of British Euroscepticism and access of the United Kingdom to a common European currency. The first chapter deals with the work of defining the term Euroscepticism and describes the typology, then analyzes the British Euroscepticism. It represents different attitudes of British premiers to adopt a common currency and the current approaches and views to a single currency of the major political parties in Great Britain. Next chapter of the work presents the attitude of British financial sector to the euro and describes the costs and benefits connected with the introduction of the common European currency. The last part of the work analyzes public opinion of the British on potentional adoption of euro currency.
European neighbourhood policy: national and European interests

This paper analyses the possibility of countries leading the presidency of the Council of the EU to influence the course of the Presidency and its results. The case study of European neighbourhood policy evaluates how much were the French, Czech presidencies successful in imposing the national priority on European level.
Political parties' functionning on municipal level: the case study of Milevsko

The main goal of the submitted thesis was to analyze seven political parties that were running for the municipal election in Milevsko in 2010. I focused on description of the candidate list structure and electioneering. The thesis also reveals the way of cooperation inside political parties and their representatives as well as parties' campaign funding. The first chapter defines the theory and characterize the municipal elections in general. Second chapter - Milevsko includes the main figures and data about Milevsko and election 2010 result. Third chapter is dedicated to the individual political parties and the last chapter describes the post-election bargaining and coalition forming.
Intra-party democracy - the comparation of The Civil Democratic Party and The Czech Social Democratic Party

Political parties are an integral part of the modern democracy. However, people hardly ever have an idea about the internal mechanisms within them. The goal of this work is the evaluation of an intra-party democracy of the two biggest Czech parties -- the Civil Democratic Party and the Czech Social Democratic Party. This work is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with the political parties themselves -- the definition of basic terms, functions and role of the political parties, typology of political parties and also the issue of the intra-party democracy. In the second chapter the parties are briefly introduced. Next subchapters analyse aspects according to which the levels of the intra-party democracy can be meassured. After this, the comparation of both parties is made. In the conclusion all the results are summarized and evaluated.
Anti-corruption policy in Slovakia

The aim of this paper is to describe the fight against corruption in Slovakia in the country context and international context and to answer following questions: " What is the current state of anti-corruption policy in Slovakia and what is its history since 1998?" and " What is the evaluation of the anti-corruption policy in Slovakia given by the international subjects and to what an extent has this evaluation determined the development of anti-corruption policy? The paper contents theory about corruption, its different kinds, reasons and consequences, the outlook about the current legislative frame and significant laws, the governmental anti-corruption programs and perception of the corruption by the public and GRECO and OECD.
The influence of interest representation in Brussels

The submitted thesis "The influence of the interest representation in Brussels" concentrates on the analysis of pressure groups, their position, function and influence particurarly with regard to the specific environment of European union. The first chapter defines the theory and the role of pressure groups generally, the second one describes the relation between pressure groups and EU institutions and as well as their opportunities to influence the decision making of these institutions. The third chapter analyses the transparency of bilateral relations between pressure groups and institutions in EU and the last one classifies and characterizes interest representation within EU.
Regulation of lobbying in Canada

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to define lobbying, actors of lobbying and their lobby activities within the frame of theoretical models of regulation of lobbying and subsequently apply these definitions to specific levels of Canadian government arrangement. The main question then is why it should be legislated to regulate lobbying. The structure of the Canadian organization of the State corresponds to two institutional levels. The first chapter is devoted to definitions of lobbying, and its actors. This chapter is the analysis of legal regulations related to lobbying. The second chapter examines the theoretical models of legal frameworks regulating lobbying. The third chapter of the above definition of lobbying is first applied to the Canadian federal level. The fourth and last chapter of the bachelor thesis gets to the very core of the topic, which monitors regulation of lobbying at the provincial level, which has included into its legal framework and consequently leads to a comparison of these legal frameworks regulating the lobbying in Canada.
The Change of Italian Party System After "Le Mani Pulite"

Tesis is focused on Italian party system after "le mani pulite" (1992-1994). The party system has changed from multipolar system with dominance of Christian democracy, to an system where is obvious possibility of alternation between two coalitions representing lef and right. The party system continues in it's development to bipolar system, with two dominant political parties.
Conflict in Northern Ireland

The aim of Bachelor thesis is to process the issue of Northern Ireland conflict and its resolution and to determine the constitutes of the conflict and its possible development in the future. Because of involvement of IRA in the conflict it is also the aim to define the concept of terrorism and to assess whether the IRA is regarded as a terrorist organization. The first chapter deals with analysis of historical contexts and assumptions of the conflict. This chapter focuses on development in the period shortly after the partition of the island in 1921. The next chapter deals with the definition of the term of terrorism and its main features, developmental stages, differences between conventional and guerrilla war and its type-distribution. It also outlines the origins of the Irish Republican Army, and what elements of terrorism, the IRA shares. The last chapter includes the concrete analysis of Northern Ireland conflict since partition of the island and the process of its solution.
