Phytoextraction of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substances
Sacher, Šimon ; Smrček, Stanislav (advisor) ; Vlk, Martin (referee)
Phytoextraction is an example of a method of removal of chemical pollutants from the environment. The objective of this thesis was the possibility of the removal of selected pharmaceuticals and one pharmaceutical metabolite through maize (Zea mays) growth. The main point of interest was the group of pharmaceuticals called NSAIDs. One of the chosen pharmaceuticals being ibuprofen, whose initial concentration in the growing medium of 5 mg/l was lowered in 9 days by 99 % and from the initial concentration of 10 mg/l of the same pharmaceutical by 77 %. The possibility of phytoextraction of the metabolite 2-hydroxyibuprofen was also examined. From its initial concentration of 5 mg/l the concentration was lowered by 47 % in 9 days. The last examined xenobiotic was ketoprofen whose initial concentration of 5 mg/l was lowered by 89 % in 9 days. The concentration of pharmaceuticals accumulated in the plant body during the cultivation was assessed. The values of concentration were higher in the shoot system and were dispersed in the magnitude of hundreths of mg of the pharmaceutical per g of fresh plant weight. In the root system the values fell into the magnitude of thousandths of mg per g of fresh plant weight. The concentration of accumulated 2-hydroxyibuprofen fell under the limit of detection. The...

Šístek, Petr ; Vlk, Martin (referee) ; Dydowicz, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of thesis is optimization information system and its upgrade with some new functions. Optimization is based on users experience and edit using processes. Upgrade will be make new chances and functions which will help company in decision processes and it contributes to more effective work with firm’s data.
Synthesis of selectively labelled lupane triterpenoids with cytotoxic activity
Vlk, Martin
Synthesis of selectively labelled compound, with coincidence with suitable analytical methods, result an unique information about structure, stereochemistry and maechanism of action. Labelled compounds play important role in the modern medicine as radiopharmaceuticals and they assist in study of interaction biologicaly active compounds in the life science and contribute to explanation of their mechanism of action a metabolic pathways. Derivatives of betulinic acid and betulin are studying for their significant cytotoxic and virostatic activity. For tests of metabolic processus and icorporation of the isotopes to the tissues culture and their detection, have been synthetise labelled compounds with significant cytotoxicity. The primary screenig already have been made in cooperation with LEM FN in Olomouc. The substrate for labelling have been selected and they have had an interesting cytotoxicity in several cancer line. Some of the of the compounds have been labelled with isotopes 2H, 13C, 15N and for incorporation study by 3H and 14C.
Pharmaceuticals in the Environment - Phytoextraction Study
Kozielová, Kateřina ; Smrček, Stanislav (advisor) ; Vlk, Martin (referee)
The thesis studied the possibility of using phytoextraction as an alternative method for degradation of drug residues from the environment. Studied material - fluoxetine is one of the widely used antidepressant, whose consumption is extremely increasing. In relation, the danger of fluoxetine and its metabolites penetrating in the surface waters increases and aquatic and terrestrial organisms can be influenced. Sterile plant cultivations of maize (Zea mays) and pea (Pisum sativum) were cultivated on media containing fluoxetine (ca 15 mg/l), and cultivations were sampled every 24 hours for a period of one week. The decrease of concentration of fluoxetine in media was monitored by the reverse-phase HPLC/UV at 226 nm. The decrease of concentration was about 10 - 20 % per day in cultivations of pea and maximally 10 % per day in cultivations of maize. The ability of the plants to extract fluoxetine was a mean of 0,03 mg per 1 g fresh weight maize and 0,01 mg per 1 g fresh weight for pea.
Coaching the football coach in the game
Vlk, Martin ; Buzek, Mario (advisor) ; Malý, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Coaching of the football coach in the game Objectives: The main goal of this thesis was to explore how players perceive their coach during the length of a season, and his/her strengths and weaknesses. Another objective was to compare the results of male and female squads in the selected areas. Because the players' individual preferences and expectations can vary, the study aims to compare differences between players who evaluated their season as successful, and players who did not have a successful season. At the end the results were fed back to the players to evaluate whether the CBAS system can be used as a form of feedback, and whether the coach can use this tool to work collectively with the team, as well with individuals according to their specific needs. Methods: A structured questionnaire was used as the research method as well as individual interviews with players during their season. The main part of this research, identifying 12 assessing categories of a coach, was obtained by using a structured questionnaire. Interviews with individual players were conducted to clarify opinions of these players towards the evaluated coach. Results: After the interpretation of the results it was found that the differences between male and female players are apparent in area General encouragement....

Fatigue and injury in football
Vlk, Martin ; Frýbort, Pavel (advisor) ; Kokštejn, Jakub (referee)
Title: Fatigue and injury in football Objectives: The main goal of my work is analysis of injury causes in selected clubs from ČFL and division B at season 2011/2012 and their comparison with the reasons from official studies. Methods: Questionnaire investigation Results: Overall from the entire research sample was stated 79 injuries in monitored period, which required overall 828 days of treatment, what is 10,48 days on injury in average. The most frequent injury in ČFL is the groin injury, which make up 13% of all injuries. The most common injury, in 23 % is contusion. The most common cause of all injuries representing with 30% collision. The highes number of injuries occur between 61 - 75 minute of the match. Keywords: Analysis, F-MARC, football, comparison, mechanism of injury, cause of injury, sports injury, UEFA, source of injury
