They are the most represented antioxidants in common diet. Flavonoids are found, for example in the onions, apples, chocolate, tea and wine. This work was aimed at gathering new findings on biological activity and mechanism of action of the most frequently occurring flavonoids: the flavonol quercetin, its glycoside rutin and flavanone glycosides hesperidin and diosmin and extracts containing these flavonoids. In addition to the antioxidant activity, flavonoids are very good inhibitors of apoptosis show a strong cytoprotective activity and are able to suppress various kinds of cancerous growth. They may also be used in diabetes mellitus therapy, therapy of cardiovascular and hepatic diseases, neural and GIT disorders and bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. The effects differ according to a particular type of flavonoids. Quercetin, according to the results of many studies, could have potential in the treatment of different types of cancer. Need for Achievement and Physical Performance in Youth 12 - 14 Year Old Student: Bc. Pavlína Vlčková Supervisor: Prof. PhDr. Antonín Rychtecký, DrSc. Objectives: The main objective ofdiploma thesis was to find out the actual physical performances in 12 - 14 year old students both gender at the Elementary school of Komensky in Jílové u Prahy by use the selected method of the UNIFITTEST 6-60 and compare them with the results of former studies (Chytráčková, 2002; Rychtecký, 2006). The other objective was to diagnose the need for achievement in these students and compare them with the results of study carried out twenty years ago in Czechoslovakian young people (Kostka et al., 1987). Methods: The purpose, objectives and hypothesis of thesis were targeted in conformity with the available literature. The standardized UNIFITTEST was used. The level of physical performance of the selected sample of students was examined by the use of selected tests of the bartery of the UNIFITTEST. The test results were compared with the results of former surveys carried out in 90'of 20 century (Chytráčková, 2002) and in the year 2006 (Rychtecký, 2006). Diplomní projekt - obnova zahrad na Dómském pahorku v Litoměřicích

The significance of an ecclesiastical complex is determined by its significant position within a city, but also its link to the past, which is noticeable upon entering the premises. The thesis contains a project of a conceptual layout of the reconstruction of the individual premises of the ecclesiastical complex Dómský pahorek in Litomerice. The conceptual study comes up with solutions to existing problems that occur in the area and try to eliminate them. It also creates a space that should meet the conditions of all the users and which is sufficiently representative for the historical character and uniqueness of such a place. The project respects the historical elements and tracks throughout the complex and work with them so that they are not violated, but rather the other way around, to support them even more. In the project, Dómský pahorek is more integrated and connected to the city´s historic centre and will become its integral part. At the same time, it will become another green space within the historic city centre. Theoretical part is focused generally on a brief literature overview of the issue, which is closely related to the given topic of reconstructions of gardens that form part of most historic ecclesiastical sites. The analytical part deals with its own field surveys, whose results are then interpreted and the conclusions are drawn, upon which the concept of reconstruction of the area in the project part is built. The suitability and functionality of the conceptual study is demonstrated in perspective views, which are part of the maste´s thesis. These views clearly show the proposed state of the discussed complex.

Návrh strategického plánu mikroregionu Kuřimka

This diploma thesis deals with strategic analysis, and then proposes part of strategic plan for micro-region Kuřimka. In the theoretical part the core issues related to the topic of the thesis is defined. The practical part analyzes and evaluates the current state of the micro region Kuřimka from the perspective of the three pillars of sustainable development. The thesis contains a quantitative survey using a questionnaire survey among inhabitants of the micro-region Kuřimka. Based on the results of analyzes is suggested the action plan of strategic plan. Finally, the thesis proposes specific development activities that can be used in practice.

Obnova historické zahrady

Theme of bachelor thesis is Restoration of historic garden. Monastery garden in Broumov was chosen as a model object. I have explored the historical context of the town, the monastery, the Benedictine order, garden, and last but not least the historical development of monastery range of plants. That helped us to understand which plants were usually used in the monastery gardens, and which would be appropriate to use in the herb-vegetable garden. According to natural, functional, operational and compositional analyzes there were considered suitable options to restore the character of the historic monastery garden, to increase its attractiveness, attendance and return of it's Genius Loci. Proposed garden design is based on the studied documents and on the analysis results.
