Chartosias, Pavlos ; Vláčilová, Ivana (advisor) ; Smejkal, Petr (referee)
Title: Case study of diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery Author: Chartosias Pavlos Aim: In the thesis I will be analyzed the function and the mechanism of the knee joint, understanding the kinesiology relation with the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, focusing on the main principles and procedures of the therapy and rehabilitation after one day of surgery. Methods: The therapy included five meetings with the patient during two weeks of clinical practice. The patient had physiotherapy in the morning at the same time. The main goal for the first five days after surgery was to archive as bigger Range Of Motion was possible in the operated knee joint, remove the pain, strength and relax a group of muscles, mobilized any blocked joint and educate the patient how to use the crutches physiological and how can be independent as much possible. Results: Our therapeutic relation between me and the patient was perfect. After five days of therapy my patient archives 50 degrees flexion in the operated knee joint from 0 at the first day. Her doctor was very satisfy, that's why he indicated to her that she is able to go home after the fifth day of my therapy because my therapy was effectiveness and the results were positive. Key words: Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Range Of Motion, Post Isometric Relaxation,...
The use of therapeutic currents in reflex locomotion
Rotterová, Jitka ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
Thesis title: The use of therapeutic currents in reflex locomotion Name: Jitka Rotterová The aim of the thesis: The aim of this thesis is to determine, whether the appropriate locomotor pattern is activated during Vojta reflex locomotion - reflexive crawling, when Russian stimulation is used for a stimulation of trigger zones, as it is during manual stimulation of these trigger zones, and if the electrical potential will spread to the distant locations of the body. Method: Pilot study of experimentally descriptive character. The essence of this study is the stimulation, of heel zone and zone on medial epicondyle of the femur used in the reflex locomotion manually and by electrical current. Four probands participated in this experiment. During the manual and electrical stimulation activity in selected muscles was scanned by surface electromyography. First, order of activation of selected muscles was evaluated using "standard timing" analysis by MyoResearch XP Master program. Second, the frequency spectrum was evaluated in the same program. Results: The experiment shows that the stimulation of trigger zones of Vojta reflex locomotion by stimulating with Russian current can evoke motor response that corresponds to the locomotor pattern of reflexive crawling. Timing of activity of the muscles monitored...
Efficiency of cold treatment of locomotive system dysfunctions
Vášková, Mariana ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Efficiency of cold treatment of locomotive system dysfunctions Objectives: The theoretical part should provide an overview of effects of cold on the human organism. The practical part reports a pilot study in which local cryotherapy was applied to painful areas of dysfunctional locomotive system. Methods: After measuring local painfulness using an algometer, the Cryogen 2 device was used for local cryotherapeutic treatment; after the treatment, algometer was used again. Subjective state of the patient was monitored throughout the process. Cryotherapy was applied within normal individual physiotherapeutic treatment to patients of varying age, sex, and locomotive system dysfunctions. Results: We have shown that local cryotherapy, using the Cryogen 2 device, did decrease painfulness in measured areas. Although significant differences in pain perception were found between male and female patients, the efficiency of cryotherapy did not depend on sex. Some correlation was found between treatment efficiency and age. No evidence was found for establishing that repeated application decreases pain perception measured before the next treatment. The results are influenced by a smaller sample of patients and measurements, and by inhomogeneity of patients. Key words: pain treatment, cold, local cryotherapy,...

Title: Influence of defined olfactory stimuli to selected physiological parameters Objectives: Comparing the effect of inhibiting and stimulating scents on the chosen physiological parameters during a 20 minute long inhalation. The thesis is searching for the possible affections to cardiovascular system and to reactibility of the neuromuscular system of the aromatherapy. Methods: 10 individuals participated on the trial, 5 females and 5 male. As the inhibiting scent we chose essential oil of Lavandula angustifolia and as the stimulating scent Rosmarinus officinalis. The observed physiological parameters was heart rate, blood pressure, present emotional state using the Visual Analogue Mood Scale by Stern, results of the Petries' test and standing on two scales test. The chosen application form of the essential oils was inhalation. The observed parameters were recorded before the application of scents, in the 10th and 20th minute of the application and 20 minutes after the end of application. We used the method of comparison. With statistical analysis we compared the results of the mentioned tests and diagnostic methods before and after application each of the odors. Results: We consider that Lavandula angustifolia and Rosmarinus officinalis have statistically significant effect to cardiovascular...
