The national accounts of the Czech Republic, focusing on government deficit and debt

The diploma thesis deals with the system of national account of the Czech Republic with a focus on the development of government debt and deficit. The first chapter explains the nature, the aim and the development of the field of national accounts. The second chapter concentrates on the system of national accounts of the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to the sector of government institutions, as the national government accounts are the basis for the prediction of the government deficit, debt and the Convergence program for adoption of the common currency Euro. The third chapter defines the terms closely related to the general government sector and financial statistics. The closing chapter analyses the development of government debt and deficit in the period since 1995.

Effectiveness analysis of development subventions for the industrial zones on the example of industrial zone Nošovice

The bachelor thesis refers to industrial zones and related government supports of their development. The theoretical part introduces the determination and general features of the industrial zones in terms of positive and negative factors and evaluates, if there are benefits to concentrate companies at one place. The subjects and subvention programmes to support the industrial zone build up are mentioned in the further part of the thesis. The main part focuses on the strategic industrial zone (SIZ) Nošovice. There have been analyzed the expenses expended on the industrial zone build up and the consecutive impacts on the selected macroindexes. In the concluding chapter the evaluation of the SIZ Nošovice has been reported and the future subvention actions suggested.

American system of higher education, an inspiration for The Czech Republic?

This bachelor thesis focuses on the system of student financial aid in the USA. The analysis of this work presents the main positives of this system, which could be inspiring for a reform of higher education in The Czech Republic. At the same time, it points out some deficiencies of the American system, which could serve as a lesson for The Czech Republic. This paper also discusses the question of equality in access to higher education and presents important tools and mechanisms through which the US tries to achieve this equality.

Podpora rozvoje lidských zdrojů v České republice v rámci Společného regionálního operačního programu

Česká republika je na úrovni Evropské komise výrazně kritizována v otázce podpory rozvoje lidských zdrojů, které v ČR nejsou podle názoru komise dostatečně podporovány. Se vstupem ČR do Evropské unie, se postupně otevírají nové možnosti, jak podporovat lidské zdroje na úrovni firemního, veřejného a neziskového sektoru. Hlavním cílem mé práce je na konkrétním případě ukázat jeden ze způsobů podpory rozvoje lidských zdrojů v České republice za pomoci Operačních programů EU pro období 2004-2006. V první části se zaměřuji především na problematiku rozvoje lidských zdrojů z teoretického hlediska, na vymezení pojmu rozvoje lidských zdrojů, důvodech, cílech a způsobech jejich rozvoje. V druhé části se pak zaměřuji na již zmíněný konkrétní příklad programu na rozvoj lidských zdrojů. Jde o projekt realizovaný za podpory Společného regionálního operačního programu a je realizován neziskovou organizací - občanským sdružením Místní akční skupina Via rustica, která působí v západní oblasti kraje Vysočina. Toto sdružení je stručně představeno na začátku druhé části.

The transfer of hospitals into the stock companies

This work deals with the transfer of the hospitals into the stock companies. These used to be under the state control, they have been regulated, but nowadays they are in the process to become the stock companies owned by the private or public sector. From this point, we can see the regulation was not effective and that is why they are beeing transferred into the private ownership. At the beginning of my work, there is described the state regulation and the changes which had happened after their transfer into the private companies. Furthermore, I deal with the issue of why this change has happened. In the following part I demonstrate the transfer into the stock company in the particular case of Pardubice regional hospital. In the final part of my work there is the evaluation whether the change was for better or not; if it was economically more advantageous to regulate the state hospitals or to transfer them into the private ownership.

Drug policy of czech republic: myths and dearly paid reality

The thesis aims to make reader acquainted with basic principles of economical theory applied to drug prohibition and to describe the substance of government based on reducing reducing drug offer in Czech republic. Affinity between expenses and resulting effects that prohibition bears is being analyzed based on available data. We can notice that tax payer pays not even for battle against drug dealing , but even for drug addict healthcare, lawsuits penitentiary , whereas effects of these correctional measurements might be weak.

Tax reform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

I wrote this thesis about the tax reform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The simultaneous tax reform in Czech Republic valid from 1st January 2008 is very fresh and greatly discussed theme. Slovak reform proceeded in years 2004-2007. In the theoretical and practical part I mainly deal with the flat tax, the key-stone of the tax reform in both countries. The theory of the flat tax comes out from the principles of the effective taxation from Adam Smith. The reform based on the flat tax has been created by American economists Alvin Rabushka and Robert Hall in the 1980's. Slovakia based the reform on this concept and won recognition for its implementation. The Czech Republic tried to follow Slovakia but finally started out with corrections and simplification of the existing tax system. Besides comparison of the concepts with Rabushka's and Hall's parameters, I also examine the influence of the tax reform on the net revenues of individuals and families. In the Czech Republic I examine net revenues for 2007 and 2008 (the year before the tax reform and the first year of the reform). To be able to compare both countries I use years 2003 and 2004 for Slovakia (the year before tax reform and the first year of the reform).

Naklady zdravotnickeho systemu na nemoci zpusobene kourenim

Práce se zabývá nákladovou stranou zdravotnického systému nemocí přiřaditelných kouření. Předmětem zájmu práce je analýza metodiky ?cost of illness?(COI), jež vyjadřuje ekonomické náklady nemoci či diagnostických skupin nemocí spojených s kouřením a odhaduje maximální částku, která by mohla být potencionálně ušetřena, pokud by byla prevalence kuřáctví ve společnosti nulová. Dokladem nákladovosti nemocí způsobených kouřením jsou příklady zahraničních studií zabývajících se metodikou COI. Empirická část práce přináší komparaci metodik a výsledků zahraničních studií se zjištěními výsledky nákladů nemocničního léčení chorob způsobených užíváním tabáku v ČR. Cílem práce je srovnat výsledky zahraničních studií se studií nákladovosti nemocí způsobených kouřením v České republice.

Vliv přímých zahraničních investic na hospodářskou situaci ČR

Práce se zabývá problematikou přímých zahraničních investic a je rozdělena do dvou částí. Cílem práce je analýza vztahu mezi PZI a českou ekonomikou s akcentem na zaměstnanost a hospodářský růst. Její teoretický blok se zabývá myšlenkovými přístupy k přímým zahraničním investicím (PZI). V jeho úvodu je vyslovena definice PZI. Následují lokalizační faktory pro umístění PZI a poslední část se zabývá agenturou CzechInvest. V analyticko - praktickém bloku je nejprve vypracována SWOT analýza investičního prostředí ČR. Následuje analýza přílivu PZI dle modelu investičního cyklu a v závěru analytického bloku je provedena korelační analýza.

Česká republika a její čerpání z fondů Evropské Unie

Cílem práce je analýza současných problémů České republiky při čerpání z fondů Evropské Unie. Diskuse o vlivu a přínosu dotací je velmi rozporuplná. Při značném zjednodušení vymezení odpůrců a zastánců existence dotací jako takové, lze jako první jmenované označit liberálně smýšlející ekonomy a jako druhé pak stoupence J. M. Keynese. V této práci jsou prezentovány tyto dva teoretické přístupy. Složitost systému čerpání z fondů, byrokracie a nejednotnost požadavků pro získání dotací představují jen část problematiky, kterou se snaží tato práce řešit.
