The sources of happiness of seniors living in a retirement home
Kovalová, Diana ; Valentová, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the happiness of seniors living in a nursing home. It focuses primarily on what are the core and main sources of happiness that people in a nursing home draw upon. As the population grows older, issues of care and happiness in the elderly are becoming more and more pressing and important, when it is a topic that will one day have an effect on everyone. It is therefore important to explore this area in more detail and to find out the main areas of people's lives where they really feel happy and help them to cope with the difficult moments that old age and the decline of strength bring with it (poorer health, diminishing social ties, depression, fear of death, etc.). Last but not least, there is an effort to show how much the environment in which the elderly live has an impact on them and how important it is to improve the quality and care of retirement homes to maximise the satisfaction of the people who live there. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part introduces the topic of old age and ageing. How the period of old age is periodized, what are the manifestations of ageing and how the individual adapts to this period. Then there is the topic of happiness, its characteristics, concept and what are its sources. Last but not least, there are...

Poláková, Erin ; Valentová, Hana (advisor) ; Frombergerová, Anna (referee)
The presented master thesis is focused on the issue of atopic eczema. The aim of the thesis was to map the experiences of young adult women with atopic eczema, with an emphasis on their subjective experience of this disease. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the reader to the topic. It defines the term atopic eczema, describes its specifics, forms, etiopathogenesis and treatment options. It also deals with the psychosomatic approach as one of the possible approaches to this disease. In the theoretical part, the psychosocial aspects of atopic eczema are also taken into account, including the impact of the diagnosis on the quality of life of adult patients. The theoretical part is followed by the empirical part. Here are presented the results of a qualitative study in which eight semi-structured interviews were conducted with young adult women who were diagnosed with atopic eczema during their lifetime. The Influence of the Partnership on the Father's role
Chomiszaková, Alexandra ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to study and better understand the experience of fathers in how their partner helps shape their role as a father. The theoretical part describes changes in the concept of fatherhood that we observe in society, as well as ways of conceptualising fatherhood and the influence of the female partner. The constructs of co-parenting and gatekeeping are explained in connection with the influence of the female partner and parenthood as other potential approaches to grasping and understanding the phenomenon of fatherhood. The empirical part presents the results of qualitative research, which was carried out with the use of interpretive phenomenological analysis and semi-structured interviews. The topics that emerge from the analysis are the answers to the research question. The topic of partnership, especially its quality and mutual closeness, appears to be essential. This is further reflected in the fathers' self-evaluation as well as the level of the fatherhood experience. Another important area is the division of roles and competencies, which is influenced by whether the female partner has a traditional or liberal approach to parenting. Communication, which is a reflection but also a product of a partnership, is also an essential factor. The partner's influence is also evident in...
The Expulsion of Germans from Přebuz and the Transformation of the Town in the Postwar Period
Valentová, Hana ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Andrš, Pavel (referee)
To this day, the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War can be counted among controversies in the history of Central Europe. Until 1989, this topic was a grey zone in our historiography. Naturally it was influenced by the regime at that time, whose collapse resulted in a research boom. At the same time, questions about the adequacy of the deportations arose. To this day, answers to these questions remain quite different. It often depends on where the response comes from. It is important to realize that the deportations greatly affected the lives of ordinary people. This thesis deals with the expulsion of Germans from Přebuz and the subsequent development of the town in the postwar period. In order to give a complete picture of the state of affairs in Přebuz before the deportations, one part will also be dedicated to the historical development and the population of the town since its founding until the end of the Second World War. The thesis deals with the German population in the town in the period between 1945 and 1989, which was not viewed sfavourably at that time. The consequences of the expulsion of Germans on the town itself, namely its depopulation and attempts at populating it again, are also taken into consideration. Attention will also be paid to the so called...
