Are there groups, clubs which have an impact on governments, institutions and the media and are they able to influence world events? And are they known about only by a small part of the public and is this information very sketchy, because their meetings are held behind closed doors and the members are bound to secrecy? Yes, there are. The clarification of this issue, the history of these groups, the irgradual acquisition of power and the influence of elite societies on global governance are discussed in this thesis. The power was brought by the money and the money as exchange values were first created by the bankers who most contributed to the creation of the government behind the scenes. Attention is thus paid to the international bankers (particularly the Rothschild clan), as global players, their development and influence on history. Another part of the thesis focuses on the elite societies in the 20th century; among these global actors belongs for instance The Round Table, The Council on Foreign Relations, The Bilderberg Group and The Trilateral Commission. The thesis also describes the objectives and the means by which the objectives should be achieved and focuses on significant individual members from the fields of politics, business, industry and the media. Examined are also efforts of introducing of the central bank in the USA and the birth of the U. S. Federal Reserve System.
