Completion of the area Údolní 53 for the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Fine Arts

The aim of this work is to create arts campus for the Faculty of fine arts and Faculty of Architecture from the complex of buildings of BUT at Údolní street. Current buildings (formerly army barracks houses) don't have sufficient capacity and are not suitable for the arts departments. Inner part of the campus is nowadays without urbanistic concept and is formed of many buildings of differnt purposes. This work deals with the urbanistic solution of the campus, new use of the current buildings and creation of the new buildings, needed for teaching and exhibitions. I am adding annexes to the historical buildings that will be used by artists. There is main entrance and common gallery in the center of those buildings on the busy crossroad. In the inner part of the campus, between buildings of Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Architecture, there will be the gipsoteca and drawing rooms that will be used by both faculties.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

This project deals with design of a residential complex in city district Brno-Komín. Given area is sloping and forms a connection between the urban area and the forest. The aim of this project was to propose a solution that offers enough private and public places and is sensitive to its surroundings. I designed a complex of single and double storey atrial houses accessible from the residential street. It is primarily intended for pedestrians, but it also enables entrance and parking of cars. The road and garages are located in the north part of the area along the old tree alley. I situated two villas embedded into the hill in the steepest part of the area. The houses form a natural transition between the urban area and the forest.

Potentation of the effect of cytostatic by v-ATPase inhibitors

Tumour diseases belong among some of the most severe problems of advanced civilization and of current medicine. Neuroblastoma is a solid embryonal children's tumour, which develops from the cells of the neural crest. The increased expression of some oncogenes and their mutation leading to dysfunction plays a major role in the pathogenesis of this disease. One of the possible treatments of the tumours is the use of cytostatics, substances with no selectivity, which kills both damaged and healthy cells by their toxic effect. An example of such a cytotoxic substance is cisplatin (CDDP) which binds with purine nucleotides and leads the cell to apoptosis. A current complication in the treatment is development of chemoresistance. In connection with this issue vacuolar-type H+ -ATPase (V-ATPase) responsible for the acidification of vacuoles is studied. This bachelor thesis concentrates on studying the expression of selected genes of the V- ATPase in the neuroblastoma stem cell line sensitive (UKF-NB-4) and resistant to cisplatin (UKF-NB-4CDDP) and after their exposure to cisplatin. That was accomplished on the genetic level by the isolation of cellular RNA, reverse transcription creating complementary DNA (cDNA) and a method of a real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Apotheosis of Emperor Joseph I in Prague collection of university theses. The bachelor´s work will deal with university theses of Prague environs that came into existence between 17th and 18th century. Two graphics will be the main object of bachelor´s work; their theme is the glorification of Emperor Joseph I. of Habsburg. Attention is concentrated on iconography analysis of two graphics, determination of the identity of depict persons and historical events. University theses are set into the historical and artistic context of the time of their origins and are given into connection with imaging glorification of Habsburg family on graphics of Prague university environs.
