Psychosocial problematics of dialysis patients

Thesis supervisor MUDr. Jirina Ondrusova, PhD. The bachelor thesis deals with psychosocial problems of dialysis patients. The theoretical part describes the function and failure of kidneys, treatment options for CKD - hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplantation. It also discusses the quality of life of dialysis patients, its dimensions, factors that influence it and its measurement. The fourth chapter describes the psychological and social aspects faced by CKD patients. The last chapter describes palliative care in CKD patients, its types, psychological and ethical aspects, and social work. In the practical part, I chose a qualitative method to collect data using a semi-structured interview. The aim is to describe the psychosocial issues of dialysis patients and to find out to what extent dialysis affects quality of life.
Multidisciplinary cooperation in nursing homes

7 This diploma thesis deals with the topic of multidisciplinary cooperation in nursing homes. At the beginning of the work, a chapter on nursing service is prepared, where everything related to i tis described. From the nursing service, the text of the thesis moves to the group of seniors, old age and aging, where all important concepts are defined. The next chapter deals with the quality standards of social services, and the following, the fourth, shows what other social services can be used by people belonging to the PS target group. In the fifth chapter, the thesis deals with multidisciplinary cooperation, the composition of the multidisciplinary team and the experts who can be part of the team. The is also a code of ethics. Chaptet six describes two facilities, specifically two nursing gomes, where the research was conducted. The chapter is supplemented by price lists in Annexes 3 and 4. The penultimate chapter, entitled Long- term care, i salso important for this work, as this topic is again closely related to nursing services and, above all, multidisciplinary teams and cooperation between individua members. Support provided by a social worker in the treatment of children with eating disorders

This Bachelor thesis focuses on the eating disorders in context of social work. The aim of this work is to analyze the support of social workers who are in contact with children having an eating disorder. The whole thesis is divided theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with basic definition of eating disorder and its division together with risk factors which can worsen the decease. In the following section there is presented social work and its applications when dealing with problem of eating disorder and the role of a social worker. The child's social functioning can be disrupted by an unexpected situation in a form of eating disorder, hence judging the health status by a social worker must be done to obtain needed results used for choosing appropriate intervention and the treatment. The second last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to possible treatments. Finally, there is presented a list of institutions dealing with disorders in the Czech Republic. Impact of Covid - 19 pandemic on seniors and caretakers

The diploma thesis entitled "Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the elderly and their staff" easily explains what the Covid-19 virus is and how it affects people. This work describes a home for the elderly and its functioning. Furthermore, there is a description of the employees who can work in the home and what their work entails. In the analytical part of the work, I try to find out how much the pandemic was perceived by the seniors living in the Lidická Home for the Elderly and how the staff of this facility perceived it. also to show how the interviewed people coped with the situation and what they had to get used to. I wanted to find some differences between clients and employees that would show a diversity of thinking and commitment. My aim was to point out what the staff were willing to do during this difficult time in order to continue to help vulnerable people in nursing homes. The results also tell us what the seniors had to go through with the belief that it will get better and everything will be as it was before.
The world of mentally challenged people from a different perspective

5 Abstract The main focus of this diploma thesis is the quality of mentally challenged people's life in the Czech Republic. The quality of their life is being analyzed from various perspectives. The thesis begins with legislation which includes individual spheres from where it's clear that this issue isn't in any law nor regulation comprehensive, but it's included only partly. The explanation and classification of retardation is included for better understanding. The main spheres of focus are following: enrollment of mentally challenged people into education including special schools followed by an assertation on the work market, housing options (especially the positive trend of transition from institutional to individual approach), leisure activities. The thesis includes sensitive topics such as sexual life, motherhood (parenthood) or violence against mentally challenged people as well. Special social work-related methods haven been developed for better cooperation between workers and mentally challenged clients. The Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic to the Work of Social Workers in Homes for the Users with Disability

This diploma thesis addresses the measures issued in connection with the covid-19 pandemic in relation to social work in homes for users with the disability. The aim was to map the impact of anti-epidemic measures on the performance of the profession of social workers in this type of social service. The evaluation was based on the analysis of anti-epidemic measures, a questionnaire survey and interviews. The result of the research is a set of specific impacts of measures on the performance of the profession of social workers in homes for users with disabilities.
Canistherapy in seniors

The diploma thesis Canistherapy in seniors discusses the utilisation and benefits of canistherapy for elderly clients. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes the target group of seniors, their needs, issues and types of facilities available to them. Furthermore, the discipline of canistherapy is generically described, as well as its methods, techniques and the role of canistherapy dog in this form of therapy. The practical part of the thesis interprets the data obtained through several research methods which are applied in order to examine the senior age client's perception of canistherapy, explore the availability of canistherapy in retirement homes, map the canistherapy teams target groups and present the retirement homes staff opinions on canistherapy and its effects. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe canistherapy in relation to elderly care and to specifically depict its methods, ways of its provision, techniques and activities associated with it. An empirical research was thus made to answer the main research question: What are the benefits of canistherapy for seniors?
The issue of informalcare for a close person with Parkinson's Diseasefrom the perspective of caregivers

Diploma project, the issue of informal care for a close person with Parkinson's disease from the perspective of caregivers is focused on the intensity of care and access to services that could help informal caregivers in the care of their loved ones.In the theoretical section of Parkinson's disease I am describing, its development and changes that the disease brings along. Then I followed with the care of relatives person and support from the social system - the state. In the practical part I have chosen for my research a survey, which was attended by only a small part of respondents from informal carers. Care of long-term sick family member is very difficult. Caregivers feel tired and exhausted, they report that their own health becomes wors. Care also affects cares professional life and there leisure time. Although half of the respondents are still able to find time for their hobbies. Some carers have no idea about the possibilities of helping services and just minimum of them use these services.
Quality Indicators of Social Services

This master work deals with the measurement of the quality in social services. The present system how to guarantee the quality is quite new in the Czech Republic. So it can be useful to investigate it deeply. The study focuses on the indicators of the quality in social services, because assessing the quality by inspectors is based on them. There are the first analyses of the past inspections nowadays. They point out the heterogenity in the evaluation of the indicators as the components of the evaluated standards. The caseless judgement of the poor quality of social services can cause farreaching consequences to them. Many of providers are occupied with solving financial situation, creating standards of quality and solving everyday matters in so far they can devote their time to this theme marginally or not at all. In the empirical part of this work, there has been used a grouded theory, which has been based on qualitative interviews identifying crucial factors of the surveyed area. Cumulating and lingering problems away can mean a wide range of the negative impact for the organization: As from a negative attitude to the philosophy of quality, spreading a bad reputation of the inspection and ends with frustrated employees,, or even their leaving social services.
