Václavková, Klára
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of suburbanization and its effects on the landscape of the Czech Republic with the aim to evaluate the trends of suburbanization in Brno and their effects on the local landscape and social environment. It is based on quantitative data collection method using a questionnaire that included 23 questions. The questionnaire was completed by 180 respondents. The success rate of completing the questionnaires was 60,2 %. Suburbanization leads to great occupation of agricultural land and consumption of landscape, which is perceived by 81,1 % of respondents. This work deals with regulatory measures, e.g. local plan, regulatory plan, payments for taking out of land from agricultural land resources, etc. In the period 2001-2011 the greatest total increase per 1000 inhabitants was in municipalities Popůvky, Moravany, Rebešovice, Kanice and Rozdrojovice and on the contrary decrease of population was in Brno and municipalities Domašov, Hajany and Adamov. In the period 2001-2011 the largest number of apartments was built in Brno but the largest housing construction intensity was found out in the hinterland of town, in the Brno-Country District. Essential task should be extending awareness of suburbanization in Brno and its negative consequences on the landscape and society. Greater emphasis should also be placed on greater responsibility and consistency of municipal governments especially in mapping and solving of another suburban development in their communities.
