TITLE Knowledge of second grade pupils of selected primary school in the field of respirátory diseases AUTHOR Tereza Drbohlavová SUPERVISOR PhDr. Hanušová Jaroslava, Ph.D. ABSTRAKT This bachelor thesis is about the topic of respiratory diseases with a focus on the knowledge of pupils from 6th to 9th grade of selected elementary school in this topic. In the first part of the thesis there will be an overview of individual diseases, including their following symptoms. In this part will be described how the selected diseases manifests, clinical picture, progression of the disease, possibilities of vaccination, treatment or prevention. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the knowledge of pupils of the 6th to 9th grade at a selected elementary school in this topic. The necessary information will be collected from the pupils through questionnaires. The second part of this thesis is devoted to the results of this research. From these results it is clear that the pupils' knowledge is generally average. The best results were achieved in 9th grades, with average score of 44.38 points in 9. A and 46.54 points in 9. B. the total percentage success in 9.A is 80.7 % and in 9.B 77.58 %. On the contrary, the lowest number of correct answers was from pupils of 6. A, where the pupils achieved an average score...

Healthy diet isn't only important aspect of life, but also an important topic discussed within school system and one of the main chapters of Education of health. Thanks to early prevention this can save from many deceases like ischemic heart decease, diabetes mellitus, cancer or obesity. All of these can be prevented thanks to healthy eating, exercising and leading healthy lifestyle. Puberty is one of the main points of person's life, that's why I was interested if pupils of middle school are eating within nutrition recommendation or not, which is also the main topic of this thesis. I wanted to research to what point young people are eating healthy, if they are getting better with their food choices and where they have the best and the worst results in their eating habits. The thesis is divided to two parts. The first part is focused on healthy and recommended eating of teenagers in general. The sources are mainly literature focused on healthy eating, health of children and teenagers and recommended eating for children in middle school. The second part is focused on comparison between general requirements for healthy eating and the results of survey of children in middle school. Alena Váchová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT The topic of this bachelor's thesis is appropriate nutrition for optimal performance in artistic gymnastics. It is focused on the issues of nutrition in artistic gymnastics, based on individual diet plans. It identifies individual approaches to nutrition by members of the Czech national artistic gymnastics team and makes nutritional recommendations based on most recent research findings. It also examines the differences in the diets of male and female gymnasts. The thesis is divided into a number of sections: the theoretical section describes artistic gymnastics, its history, energy intensity and the latest findings in the field of nutrition and sports diet. Setting a proper diet plan is a complex matter that is highly individual, because there is no universal and valid nutritional style for every person. The practical part examines current dietary habits of members of the Czech national gymnastics team. Food and physical activity of teachers in selected secondary school

This dissertation elaborates on nutritional behavior and physical activity of teachers in selected secondary institutions in the town of Litoměřice as well as the North Bohemia Region. The main aim of this thesis is to determine the teachers' nutritional behavior and the level of their physical activities of the selected schools. The aim of the research is to ascertain whether teachers' eating habits correspond with nutritional recommendations and whether they have sufficient physical activity, its frequency and specifications. The theoretical part elaborates on the teachers' job description, current lifestyle, nutrition and nutritional factors. Actual nutritional recommendations are also mentioned with the purpose of providing explanation of appropriate eating habit principles. It also elaborates on physical activity focusing on the importance of physical activity, describes movement apparatus structure and defines physical endurance. It also describes the increased level of insufficient physical activity in the society. The knowledge of certain pupils in secondary schools from the area of North and Central Bohemia about selected diseases of civilisation

This diploma thesis deals with the problems of diseases of civilization. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part explains what are diseases of civilization, how they arise and how they can be prevented. For each disease (coronary heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer) the thesis describes in more detail how and why they arise, what are the risk factors, what preventive measures exist and how to treat the disease. In the practical part, the thesis is devoted to the research of pupils' knowledge in the field of diseases of civilization of selected schools. Using a questionnaire, we dermined the knowledge of the pupils of two secondary schools and found the variance in their knowledge. Furthermore, this knowledge of pupils was compared with their knowledge two years ago when a similar questionnaire was completed in the same schools. The purpose of this thesis was to find out how the knowledge of identical pupils of these two schools changed after two years. The final discussion shows how the knowledge of pupils has changed after two years. It was found that pupils' knowledge improved overall. Cancer, diabetes and obesity knowledge have all improved. Selected elementary schools pupils' knowledge of fruits and vegetables and their importance to human health

The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the importance of fruits and vegetables from the point of view of human health. In the first part, the chapters deal with the division of fruits and vegetables into groups and the importance of specific fruits and vegetables. Other chapters deal with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which are abundant in fruit and vegetables. The "Ovoce a zelenina do škol" project is also an integral part. In the last part of the theoretical part, thematic plans of elementary school Bratří Venclíků are discussed, specifically the topics related to fruits and vegetables. The practical part is based on the results of a quantitative survey in the form of a questionnaire, which focused on pupils' knowledge of fruits and vegetables and their importance for human health. The research was carried out at two primary schools in Prague, namely Bratří Venclíků Primary School and Campanus Primary School. Some of the questions are focused on the popularity of fruit and vegetables among pupils, and some questions are in the form of tests about the knowledge of vitamins, minerals, fiber, alternative nutrition and other topics related to fruits and vegetables. Information about the health risks of selected groups in unhealthy eating

This diploma thesis examines the impact of nutrition as a vital variable for human health and analyses risk factors involved in unhealthy diet. When incorporated into framework of general principals and broader social context, it is focused on an age group of adults. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part outlines the term nutrition, describes functions of different components of nutrition and energy balance in organism. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with methods of assessment of nutritional status, description of diet recommendations and evaluation of risks to the health, which can be caused by diet. The practical segment focuses on establishment of dietary habits and spread of knowledge about benefits of healthy and costs of unhealthy nutrition among students attending selected school in Čelákovice. By the use of survey then followed by comparison of surveyed data, this thesis finds insufficient degree of dietary knowledge amongst students of all three fields of study - Graduate pharmaceutical assistant, Graduate social worker and Pre-school and After-school Education.
