Possibilities and application of theatrical education on the First Stage of Elementary school system in the Czech Republic

This Diploma Thesis discusses the topic of theatrical education, its application and possibilities in the field of First Stage Elementary school education. The topic has been chosen due to a single theory, that the theatrical education is only seldom used in the educational process. It is under consideration, whether and to what extent teachers use the theatrical education during tuition. The paper is dividied into two main parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is based on various scientific papers and resources. It points its interest on theatrical education, its methodology and application during tuition. In the practical part, the main focus is the research of usage rate of theatrical education during tuition on the First Stage of the Elementary school. It investigates methods used most druing the tuition, as well as in what kind of school subjects the theatrical education is used. For data collection, I chose the method of a standardized questionnaire. Questioning, I found out which method of drama education teachers at the 1st stage of primary school use and in which subjects the drama education is included. Introverted teacher in the primary school

The thesis examines the personality of an introverted teacher at elementary school. In the theoretical part, it shows the profession of teacher through the professional competences and activities of which the profession of teacher consists. Following is a brief overview of personality theories, which aims towards a deeper understanding of the personality of man and a closer understanding of the concepts of introversion and extraversion. It also addresses the strengths and weaknesses of introversion and lists four types of introverted perception of the world. The empirical part examines how the introverted type express itself in the role of teacher and what are his strengths and weaknesses. Both men and women currently working as teachers at elementary school were approached for the research. An online personality questionnaire was used to identify the personality type of individual respondents. Method of in-depth interview was chosen for the data collection itself. Only respondents with an introverted personality type were selected for in-depth interviews. The results of the research brought a deeper understanding of the personality of the introverted teacher. The teacher's and the pupils' empathy

The subject of this thesis is the teacher's and the pupils' skill of empathy and its connection to the effectiveness of the learning process. In the theoretical part of the thesis the author defines empathy and states the issue of its definition. The author also focuses on the topic of development of empathy and how it is connected to the safe classroom environment. Also, the factors that influence the level of empathy within a person are explained. The thesis describes the role of empathy in the communication of a teacher and the pupils and how communication blocks obstruct expressions of empathy. The influence of empathy in the educational process is described on areas where emotions of the pupils play a key role. The thesis describes the possibilities of the teacher's development of empathy as well as practices that allow this development with the students of first five grades in elementary school. This diploma thesis examines the possibilities of using techniques and methods of drama education in the work of a first-level primary school teacher, specifically in teaching a patriotic topic. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. It the theoretical part, it characterizes the younger school age child and their specifics, focusing on physical, emotional and social development, as well as development of cognitive processes. The diploma thesis compares the efficiency of teaching Old Czech and Moravian Tales by method of structured drama comparing with the efficiency of frontal teaching of the same topic. The research aim is focused on the comparison of learning results of pupils who were taught by the method of structured drama with the results of pupils who were taught by the method of frontal teaching. Furthermore, the diploma thesis finds out if structured drama helps pupils to better understand the negotiation of other people. The theoretical part includes the definition of drama education, the goals of drama education, the principles of drama education, a description of drama education as a method of teaching, and evaluation in drama education. This diploma thesis deals with theme of a work of a novice drama teacher at the beginning of school attendance. Specially in the first mid-term of the first class. The theoretical part is a vocational knowledge file which is the practical part based on. The thesis allows a deep view into the drama education. It will help us to learn about a child in the start of schooling and also the aims of the early education of the first mid-term. It also defines the drama education and its principles, goals and forms. The thesis describes an inclusion of drama education in FEP (for Elementary Education) and the ideal properties of a drama education teacher. It deals with an idea of dramatic game, system of the preparatory games and exercises. It does not only introduce methods and techniques of drama education, but it also helps us to create and plan the lessons, often with a use of literary basis. Practical part is based on an assumption or editing of ten lessons of drama education taught by a novice teacher. The discourse deals with the potential of implementation of joint teaching of history to pupils of multi-grade class in a primary school with composite classes. The education will proceed through the use of methods and techniques of the theatre education. Therefore the theoretical section pursues the features of the theatre education and its benefit to pupils' education. The discourse also explores whether the curricular documents provide for such teaching. The practical section of the discourse inquires into class education planning, its fruition and reflection, it also summarizes the used methods and techniques of the theatre education. A part of the section is an aggregate chart of pupils evaluating feasibility of the used activities. In conclusion a hypothesis is established that the education by means of theatre education is attractive to pupils. Diploma work is intented on multicultural edication, mainly on integrating a pupil with a different first language to the environment of a primary school, using the methods and techniques of Drama in Education. The technical part deals with Drama in education and structured drama. Next it deals with multicultural upbringing and its enforcing in the educational system, a pupil with a different mother tongue and his accepting and integrating in his new class. In the practical part I try to approach the complexity of a newly moved in pupil who has a different language to a new class using structured drama. Taking children to the theatre

In this bachelor thesis I deal with the methods of preparing children for a visit of a theatre performance and possible ways of its reflection. The first part focuses on the topic in the context of primary education. I created a two day workshop for basic school teachers and students of pedagogy based upon a survey with the targeted group. I describe the preparation process, all the activities, which are grounded in relevant theory, and also the realisation itself, where I also deal with the benefits for the participants. Finally I compare the planned and the achieved goals of the whole project and reflect its benefit for my own work as a theater educator and pedagogue.
