Czech-French contrastive lexicological commentary on legal texts of inheritance law The subject of this thesis is a Czech French contrastive lexicological commentary on selected legal texts in the field of inheritance law in legal systems of the Czech Republic and France. In three main chapters, the thesis analyses the lexical specifics of the French legal language - in contrast to the Czech legal language. Within these chapters, it was firstly necessary to define and specify the legal language, outline the various linguistic devices used and, last but not least, their application in the translation of legal texts. The first chapter deals in more detail with the legal language in general - its determination in the context of French and Czech legislation, the development of technical vocabulary, as well as the analysis of the individual requirements placed on the legislator when formulating legal texts. The second chapter is then devoted to specific paradigmatic meaning relations in legal language, in particular relations that violate the semiotic-logical relation between a form and a meaning (synonymy, polysemy), oppositeness, hyperonymy and hyponymy. Those relations are firstly explained and shown on examples from Czech and French inheritance law and then compared with the common language....

Mortality analysis of diseases caused by smoking in selected European countries, 1999-2014 Abstrakt The main point of this diploma thesis is to analyze mortality development of diseases caused by smoking in selected countries of the European Union during the period 1999-2014 by using analytic methods. Objective states are at first represented as values of smoking prevalence indicators and consumption of cigarettes per smoker in the population. The mortality development of diseases caused by smoking in selected European countries is mentioned afterwards. The computation of temporary life expectancy at exact ages 35-85 was made after that. When we compare temporary life expectancy at age 35-85 of the real population and temporary life expectancy where we will not count with mortality diseases caused by smoking in the same age group we will get a value of how many more years would the population in that age group live if the mortality of diseases caused by smoking was eliminated successfully. The results of the main part of this thesis show that if the people didn't die on diseases caused by smoking, the most visible prolongation of temporary life expectancy at exact ages 35-85 would be in Baltic countries, especially in Latvia, in both sexes. Keywords: Mortality, smoking, mortality causes, temporary life...

Mortality analysis of diseases caused by smoking in selected countries of the Western Europe Abstract The main objective of the thesis is to compare smoking-related mortality trends, using analytical methods, in selected countries of Western Europe (Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) during 1999-2009. The development of mortality has been demonstrated by fundamental mortality indicators. Furthermore, there has been an analysis carried out in order to demonstrate a difference in temporary life expectancy at age 35-85 under the condition that smoking related causes of death were eliminated. Results of the main part of the work show that in period 1999-2009 smoking-attributable mortality declined and that if people did not die because of those diseases, temporary life expectancy at age 35-85 would increase in average by 2 and 3.6 years for women and men respectively. Temporary life expectancy was increasing during the whole study and for both sexes. Keywords: mortality, smoking, cause of death, Western Europe, sex
