Efficient forest data collecting using modern measuring instruments
Formánek, Nikola ; Urbánek, Vilém (advisor) ; Kašpar, Jan (referee)
The subject of the thesis is to focus on breast-height diameter thickness and height of trees in area of Tři Skalky, Vůznice a Červený kříž for the purpose of forest environment monitoring in the protected landscape area and biosphere area Křivoklátsko. Furthermore to analyze new modern devices and evaluate their precision, speed and subsequent use for the purpose of observing similar research areas and to compare two methods of detecting breast-height diameter thickness (caliper, perimeter zone). During taking dendrometric variables were used digital calipers Mantax Digitech II, Digitech Professional II, Mantax digitech and Vertex Laser altimeter. Digital caliper DP II offers the possibility of its use with a variety of accessories and it was tested in conjunction with a GPS device to locate the researched areas on the map. All tested devices proved to be valuable tools for efficient data collection. For long term monitoring of chosen areas is recommended most advanced digital caliper Digitech Professional II. Comparison of acquired data taken with digital caliper and a digital peripheral zone showed that the resulting values are very similar and in compliance with all principles of measurement. Both of these methods are useable for monitoring radial increment.

Assessment of dendrometric parameters of small forest property from economic point of view
Havlíček, Josef ; Urbánek, Vilém (advisor) ; Tipmann, Lubomír (referee)
This paper is about the extraction of and working with basic dendrometry and
stand values. The data collection was
performed on two stand groups. One group was measured with full
calipering while the other group was measured with the method of trial
surface. An Electronic Digitech Professional was used to measure the
thickness and it's comparison with the heights of the trees. A Hypsometer
Vertex Laser was used to obtain information about the height of the trees. A
GPS compatible with the software TIMS was used to acquire information about
the surface. The data was evaluated with the software caliper LCRTax, with
the application Calliper, as well as with mass
value tables ULT. The data was then compared with the available data of the
interim separate of the forestry outlines for the years
2016 to 2025. Based on the enumerated results, this paper further suggests
agricultural measures to be taken within the area of study.
