The application of advanced statistic methods for evaluation of behavioral studies
Tůma, Michal ; Wittner, Michal (advisor) ; Ort, Michael (referee)
The presented paper shall summarize process and results achieved during a behavioural study of cognitive abilities of rats, in particular of space orientation ability and balance ability. The space orientation ability was examined in the course of task of searching a hidden object in the Morris water maze whereas a modified beam balance test was to prove the latter ability. In the experiment there were employed 30-days old Wistar rats, further divided into the groups according to examined factors. Such factors comprise living environment of the rats, short-time hypoxic stress, anaesthesia applied and impact of order of an experimental day on the performance. Influence of the aforementioned factors on examined cognitive abilities was asses both upon each of such factor separately and on the basis of mutual interaction among such factors. The recorded results show high variability which is more apparent from the descriptive statistics and relatively often in such behavioural studies cases. Neither the t-test nor single-factor analyses of variance were able to prove the influence of either environmental factor or hypoxia factor on the cognitive abilities as statistically relevant. The influence of performance in dependence on a tested individual was ascertained as statistically relevant (p<0,001). When the...

First aid for women with gynecological bleeding
TŮMA, Michal
The thesis deals with the pre-medical first aid for women suffering from gynaecological bleeding, especially focussing on the responsibilities, duties and competences of a paramedic in the Czech Republic. Initially, the thesis concentrates on specifying the term "pre-medical emergency care" as well as on the responsibilities of a paramedic, which are supported with the relevant legislation. The subsequent chapters monitor the physiological and pathological causes of gynaecological bleeding of pregnant women. Furthermore, the thesis also addresses hemorrhagic shock as one of the dangerous subsequences of gynaecological bleeding. The practical part describes the methodology of the actual research among employees, trying to confirm or rebut a hypothesis that the knowledge of health care professionals is sufficient as far as the pre-medical emergency care is concerned. The closing discussion summarises the research results.

The Jews in Hluboka nad Vltavou and their architectural and historical monuments
TŮMA, Michal
This thesis is focused on the history of the Jewish community in Hluboka nad Vltavou and architectural and historical sights created by this community (synagogue, cemetery). The introduction deals in development of the Jewish community in this town starting from the period of its arrival till the perishing of the Jewish municipality in the course of the Wolrd War II., as a result of genocide of its members by means of Nazist´s death camps. The main part of the thesis describes the establishment factors, existence, and downfall of the Jewish cemetery and synagogue and also considers the architectural and historical development of these monuments. For the better connection of the history, architecture and religious rules, except the fine art´s elements and photographic documentation, I also inccluded the most successful epitaphs and their translations with some Hebrew transriptions, which are put in the supplements.
Comprehensive study of internet microcommunities
Hejl, Radomír ; Raška, Ondřej (advisor) ; Tůma, Michal (referee)
The purpose of this work is to describe a comprehensive approach to internet micro-communities in its complexity both in theory and in practice. The work is focused above all on internet community managers or their owners and should provide them with theoretical and practical experience and procedures leading to easy founding of these micro-communities and at the same time how to expand and make them profitable. The work draws from practical experiences during development and administration of a traveller community ORBION.CZ and a pregnant/mother eMimino.cz community. I drew first from common principles in scientific literature and then tried to enrich this approach from practice and offer problem solutions based on my experience. This way I think I can treat the problems in an interesting manner. The work is divided into several topics representing community life-cycle. In the first place there is a notion clarification in theory and typology of internet communities. Then follows theoretical definition of users structure, description of community origin, its growth, sustainable growth and solution of frequent problems from practical point of view. The last part aims at theoretical possibilities of monetization and consequently business model options in practice.
