Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy as an adaptive mechanism
Svobodová, Tereza ; Fiurašková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Horáková, Anna (referee)
The subject of this thesis is nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, an accompanying phenomenon of pregnancy for most women around the world, which etiology and possible function is unknown. Some authors consider this phenomenon to be a by-product of pregnancy hormones or immunological changes occurring with the onset of pregnancy, while others attribute an adaptive function to it. An adaptive function would be suggested by the results of studies associating nausea and vomiting of pregnancy with a lower incidence of spontaneous abortion and with some other positive pregnancy outcomes. The two most discussed adaptive hypotheses include the "maternal and embryo protection hypothesis" and the "placental growth and development hypothesis". The aim of the thesis is to summarize and critically evaluate the findings of previous studies regarding the adaptive function of pregnancy nausea, to present them in the context of studies that perceive them as a by-product of hormones or immunological changes, to evaluate the support of hypotheses regarding their possible function and to suggest further research directions in this area.
Gig Economy: A Literature review of critical approaches
Zhidkova, Ekaterina ; Kolomoiets, Maksym (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
This work is dedicated to the topic of the Gig economy, its definition, scope and influence in modern society. In the theoretical part, it defines links with more extensive terms from the field of digital economy. The narrative literature review method used in this work was transparently designed to obtain a comprehensive and reliable sample. Based on the analysis, this thesis systematizes and outlines critics of gig economy platforms, alongside with the key features of gig economy, as outlined by scholars in the area. A broader impact of the gig economy is also derived from the papers from the sample. A check for possible inconsistencies in the use of the definition of gig economy resulted in the separation of core features, that are present in the majority of articles in the sample, and auxiliary features, that are unique or contradictory to core features. The significance of gig economy and possible futures of gig work are also discussed.

It tests five kinds of grips. There evaluated stages of reaching, gripping, holding and releasing in each grip. The bachelor's work is divided into two parts: practical and theoretical. The theoretical part describes not only the impact of a stroke but olso the impact on the upper limb, hand and its functions and grips. It also describes testing and assessment. The practical part describes the time necessary to do the project, its realisation and application of the grip test on patients after stroke. This part also shows the results of testing. Communication between teachers and pupils in elementary school in gender perspective

A design of software applicable in occupational therapy A design, realization and evaluation of a PC program for shopping practice for people with cognitive deficits
Rohlenová, Eva ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
The main goal of this thesis was to design a computer program applicable in occupational therapy in cognitive rehabilitation. I designed a PC program focused on shopping practice. Its main advantages are: the absence of any charges, the possibility of using it on an ordinary PC and the accessibility via the Internet. The designed program, named Trénink nakupování (~Shopping training), had been implemented in a beta version. Afterwards, it was tested and evaluated with a questionnaire by five stroke patients. The results show that all patients evaluated the program very positively and they believe in its benefits for the rehabilitation. The theoretical part describes cognitive training and shopping from the perspective of an occupational therapist. Four PC training programs focused on shopping training are described. Other sections provide detailed information about the designed program. The practical part consists of testing, the evaluation of questionnaires and suggesting ways to improve the program in the future. Key words: cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive training, iADL, shopping, program design, computer-assisted training, PC program, brain injury Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The theoretical part includes anatomy and insights into kinesiology, causes, symptoms, testing and treatment options for painful shoulder syndrome. The main part of the thesis introduces potential treatment procedures which can be performed through the intervention of occupational therapy and brings a new perspective in terms of rehabilitation of the disease, since it was previously primarily viewed from a physiotherapists perspective, which is essential for the treatment of painful shoulder syndrome. The practical part contains two case studies performed on adult patients who suffered with painful shoulder syndrome, both show the course of therapy in individual patients. Occupational therapy methods were practiced on patients and are dealt with in the theoretical part of the work. The methods compliment physiotherapist intervenion and facilitate the patient's return to normal daily life. KEY WORDS: painful shoulder syndrome, shoulder joint, upper...
