The Koněprusy Caves: Depositional context of a human skeleton and the first radiocarbon dating
Svoboda, Jiří ; Kuželka, V. ; Vlček, E.
The Koněprusy caves in the Bohemian Karst represent a case of otherwise uninhabited underground system, where Upper Paleolithic human fossils were found in 1961 in a redeposited position, in the upper part or on the surface of a debris cone under vertical chimneys. Due to this situation, and with respect to the general archaeological and palaeontological context, Koněprusy were often compared to the site of Mladeč, Moravia, and the both depositions were intuitively dated to the Early Upper Paleolithic. Recent 14 C datings, however, confirmed an Aurignacian age for Mladeč only, whereas the date for Koněprusy suggets rather a Magdalenian age. New series of samples is actually being prepared in order to confirm this first dating. Finally, this paper discusses the term funeral caves.
Speleoarchaeology between the Karst and Pseudokarst
Svoboda, Jiří
This paper introduces two current projects dealing with prehistoric occupation of the karstic and pseudokarstic (sandstone) areas of the Czech Republic. The largest sets of (calibrated) C14 data are available for the Magdalenian and Mesolithic periods. Spatially, emphasis is concetrated on studies of the karstic and pseudokarstic areas as settlement systems. Additionally, this paper resumes the problems of methodology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and site protection.
Ivory wieghts from Předmostí and Pavlov
Svoboda, Jiří
As early as 1884, an object carved of mesial part of a mammoth tusk from Předmostí was described by J. Wankel, and interpreted by him as a weight. Obviously, the utility of such artefacts lies in their weight and in the fixation by fibrous cordage. A comparative study shows that between 30-15 ky, analogical objects appear repeatedly in various Gravettian phases and facies, as well as in Late Aurignacian (Pavlov, Willendorf, Alberndorf, Kostenki, Mezin). In order to approach more precisely their function within the technological system of these settlements, archaeological observations (the context, traces of damage from beating) and analogies (ethnoarchaeology, experimental archaeology) are applied. These methods suggest a variety of alternatives, but none of them is proved unequivocally. Even if the approach of this paper is preferentially functional and technological, an additional symbolic meaning of some of these objects (cf. their anthropomorph "heads") should not be neglected a priori.
25 000 years old textile?
Kovačič, V. ; Militký, J. ; Moravec, V. ; Svoboda, Jiří
This paper presents the fotodocumentation of imprints of textile structures on fragments of burnt clay from the Upper Paleolithic settlement of Pavlov.
Závěr: Pavlovien jako součást gravettské mozaiky
Svoboda, Jiří
The mosaic of Gravettian adaptation over the European scene was not a static one, but displays a dynamic pattern of changes. Moravia, where the settlement density and complexity culminates during the earlier Gravettian (the Pavlovian) and decreases afterwords (the Willendorf-Kostenkian) provides a reverse picture to that of some other European regions, such as Italy, Carpathian Basin, and eastern Europe. The impuls would probably be provided by environmental changes and possible population shifts before and around the Last Glacial Maximum.
Project management in software developing company and its support
Ježek, Lukáš ; Svoboda, Jiří (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
This case study tries to describe posibilities and also concrete case of project management implementation in a internet development company. In the first part of this study there are different views on project management in the form of Word known methodologies. Simultaneously he is trying to evaluate default state of internet company before aplying of project management into internal processes of the company. On the base of default state analysis author is therefore targeting on the most complicated areas of all today's companies in project management. There are: Change management, ressource management, risk management, financials and utilizing of human resources. In these areas there is a author's view on the theme. Is there any chance to apply any project management metodology into so turbulent environment as the internet companies are.
Implementation of ISO certification in terms of project management of web development
Vít, Radek ; Svoboda, Jiří (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is the enhancement of the project management and development processes in the Actum s.r.o.. The instrument I have chosen to accomplish this goal is the ISO certificate, which I have picked up as a suitable tool of internal development methods optimalization. To obtain better view on what the ISO certificate is and what kind of procedures it contains I will analyze the document at first. Next step will be to analyze the current state of the Actum's processes, I will determine the particular phases of the project management and process workflows which are defined by those phases. I will use Use Case diagrams to show how the process looks like. In the final step I will design corrective measures which will be reflecting the norms of the ISO standard. The resolution defined by me will not be only theoretical but this resolution will be realized within the Actum Company.
