Veniamin and Juraj Križanić in Russia

Práce je formálně rozdělena na dvě samostatné části - "Juraj Križanié v Rusku" a "Veniamin v Rusku". Podobný přístup je dán faktem, že oba zkoumaní autoři žili v různých dějinných epochách a jejich díla vznikala v rozdílné historické situaci a s jiným záměrem. Přes tyto odlišnosti jsme přesvědčeni, že psát o nich v rámci jedné práce má svoje opodstatnění a svůj smysl. Oba působili v Rusku v obdobích jeho historie, která můžeme charakterizovat jako přechodná. V případě Veniamina v údobí vymezeném ukončením formální závislosti moskevského vládce na tatarských chánech (1480), sjednocením velké části severovýchodní Rusi do jednoho celku s centrem v Moskvě a dobou Ivana IV. Hrozného (1547 - 1584). U Križaniée se jednalo o dobu mezi tzv. Smutou (1584 - 1613) a nástupem nové dynastie Romanovců ( 1613) na jedné straně a reformami Petra I. (1689 - 1725) na straně druhé. Jejich názory se utvářely zcela pod vlivem tradice evropského Západu, přesto se oba (každý vlastním způsobem) stali součástí duchovnosti staré Rusi a reagovali na situaci, v níž se moskevský stát jejich doby nacházel. Oba s sebou na Východ přinesli nové impulsy a oba (byť v odlišných podmínkách a rozsahu) ovlivnili (nebo se o to vědomě pokusili) politický a myšlenkový vývoj Moskevské Rusi. The Specifics of a Russian Phenomenology and IIs Its Relevance for Literary Studies

The aim of the thesis is to advert to precarious position of the history of literature and some other literature theories. The history of literature describes literary texts as dead historical objects. Although it's a human science, it disregards a human beings and their life-world. It rather categorize technically literary texts into different groups. This approach is purely scientific. The history of literature as many other branches of literary science solves their own abstract problems through the abstract theories which has no aim to interpret the literary text as a specific experience for a reader. The article points out how the scientific approach to the literary text disable to interpret a conrete literary text in the sense for human being. I use phenomenological philosophy as a proposal of another type of approach to the interpretation. Interpretation in the phenomenological sence means that through literary text the interpret seeks to understand our living world. In the other parts I follow the trail of phenomenological philosophy in tradition of Prague structuralism. Reflection on Jewish Themes Protectorate in literature

This bachelor's thesis aims to compare different approaches of Jewish minority to racial discrimination in beautiful literature of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Based on a comparison of four selected titles from the Czech fiction, I will discuss how the Jews stand for placing racial policy into practice in the selected works, how the main characters coped with persecutions, and what was their internal experience of wartime events. The bachelor thesis will be based on a specified primary literature, which was intentionally chosen to clearly illustrate the different attitudes of the Jews. I will focus even on interfaces and on what the main characters connects in the selected titles. Also, I want to emphasize how they differ and how each one of them puts up differently and in a unique way with their difficult situation.
How Invitation to a Beheading is Made. Theatrical and Polemic Elements in Vladimic Nabokov's Novel

The work focuses on the analysis of the poetics of Vladimir Nabokov's novel Invitation to a Beheading in terms of its cultural context. Specifically deals with its relation to the Soviet theatrical avant-garde, with mythopoetic symbolism and early avant-garde. We approach to the novel as a parody of the post-revolutionary avant-garde Soviet theater experiments. Special attention is paid to the fact that due to the theatralization of the text, i.e. assimilation of the novel space with the theatricals, diegesis of Invitation to a Beheading is divided into two equal opposing worlds, each of which represents particular poetics. World built around main character of Cincinnatus is comparable to symbolism, namely to the symbol and symbolistic perception of Andrei Bely. The central principle of this reality is semiotization of the world. The surrounding fictional world creates its opposite as it is shaped by the principle of desemiotization which - as a central aspect of formalistic-futuristic avant- garde - systematically dismantles hero's world. However neither of these worlds is winning. In the end it is the synthesis, which helps the hero get emancipated from the novel's world. Towards the Boundaries of Fictional Narrative

My thesis examines the nature of contemporary fictional narration and explores its relations to other types of narration - mainly texts where educational or informative function prevails over the aesthetic one. The whole work is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical; it sets up basic areas of interest and names methods, tools and models that will be tested on selected examples from Slavonic literatures. The second part analyses spatial and temporal relations of fictional narrative. Chapter 2.1 treats time and space in a novel mostly from the compositional point of view (based on the example of Sasha Sokolov's A School for Fools), while in the next chapter, focusing on ideational interconnections between literary and social- political utopias, both fictionality and temporality are understood more broadly than mere narrative categories: they serve as certain points of connection between the immanent occurrence of meaning in the "world of text" and its historical background. The third part continues in this direction, only what we mean by context here is not the collective historical background, but an individual sphere of everyday life. Manipulation in Literature

The theme of this diploma thesis is the manipulation in literature as a dialog between the I and the You or the I and the It. This I has a different position in each of the two types of manipulation. In the first type the I is the subject of manipulation - that is a manipulator. In the second one the I becomes the object of manipulation - thus a victim of a manipulator because the power over the I has been overtaken by other character's consciousness. The I and the You type is represented by an outside dialog (between characters), whereas the I and the It type is demonstrated in an inside dialog which does not occur between the hero and another character but between the hero and a voice of other character's consciousness. The opening part which deals with the manipulation in different contexts (philosophical, political and psychological) is followed by a part where I interpret the manipulation's representation in literature, especially in the works of Dostojevskij (The Double, The Village of Stepanchikovo, Notes from Underground, The Eternal Husband). With the characters of this author we can view the dark side of the human mind and also have a close look at various forms of arbitrariness, especially at the manipulation with the others.

RESUMÉ Dizertační práce Koncepce lyrického subjektu v poezii českých dekadentů v srovnávacím aspektu uvažuje o tématu subjektivity ve vztahu k sexualitě a náboženství ve třech literaturách modernismu - v bulharské, české a francouzské. Dizertační práce se skládá z šesti základních kapitol: Subjekt a subjektivita modernismu, Dandysmus fin-de- siècle. K teoretizaci problému, Lyrický subjekt a homosexualita, Lyrický subjekt a láska, Podoby narcismu a stylizace lyrického subjektu v Narcise v poezii modernismu, Lyrický subjekt a náboženství, Závěr a dosažené cíle dizertační práce. The Aspects of "Skaz" (On the B. M. Eikenbaum's Theory of Literature)

The present thesis entitled The Aspects of ‚Skaz' (On the B. M. Eikhenbaum's Theory of Literature) concerns with the narrative strategy, which B. Eikhenbaum during the 1th and 2nd decade of the 20th century called ‚skaz'. The scholar offered a concept explaning skaz as the specific narrative form closely connected with the spontaneous verbal praxis. The starting point of my explanation are three Eikhenbaum's studies: The Illusion of Skaz (1918), How Gogol's ‚Overcoat' Is Made (1918) and Leskov and Contemporary Prose (1925). On this material are shown both the constants and the shifts in the outlining of the skaz problematic. The goal of the thesis is to examine Eikhenbaum's concept on the one 128 hand, and to offer the further potential readings and relate the task with the larger field of reflectations on the other hand. The explanation is devided into two parts: whereas the emphasis of the first of them is laid on the theoretical explanation of the problem, the second one deals with the interpretations of certain works of art. Therefore, in the beginning is displayed the context of formalist attitude to the literature as a basis, from which grows Eikhenbaum's own theory.
