Strnadová, Mirka ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the phenomenon of alcohol and cigarette consummation among young people in the Czech Republic using the theory of social deviation. The following chapters focus on various topics, for example legislative measures connected to this issue, harmfulness of the substances included in alcohol and cigarettes, the family functions that can affect this behaviour or the possible addiction to the addictive substances as one of the health determinants. Deviation is characterized as an excessive consummation of these addictive substances as the regular consummation of alcohol and cigarettes is common enough that it is considered normal. Czech students appear among the first ten countries in the consummation of alcohol and cigarettes. Their behaviour can be affected for example by sex, type of school, average grades but mainly by bad habits of their friends. According to hypotesis of social deviation the most endangered should be young people coming from incomplete, non-educated families with lot of members. These families lack rules and have bad emotional connections between their members. Analysis of both alcoholism and smoking confirmed the influence of completeness and education of family, the rules in the family and the emotional connections between parents and children. The...

Strnadová, Mirka ; Osvaldová, Barbora (advisor) ; Hronová, Tereza (referee)
This thesis describes the reflection of homosexuality in Czech media on the example of marches of homosexuals. Firstly I clarify the main terms and the differences between them, then I focus on the history of perception of homosexuality and the roles of homosexuals in our society. The chosen units for the content analysis are following periodicals: MF Dnes, Právo and Lidové noviny. The analysis focuses on the articles published in the range of three months from the day the events took place during the years 2008 and 2011. In the analytical part of this thesis I firstly characterize the marches held twice in Brno, once in Tábor and once in Prague. All the periodicals were interested in the first Queer Parade in Brno but their interest in the second and third one dropped. The most media attention achieved the Prague Pride in 2011. There have been over 100 articles about this topic and their size rose and dropped equally with the number of visitors of these events. The interest of the media has also been influenced by any kind of negative event, mainly when the marches were attacked by extremists or criticised by politicians. These negative and stereotypical statements in media can be very influential in the way of stigmatizing sexual minority and it is also one of the aspects which this thesis pays...

Štěpánková, Veronika ; Strnadová, Mirka (advisor) ; Pekáček, Ondřej (referee)
The bachelor thesis titled Healthy Lifestyle of Adolescents examines the different types of free time activities for teens, focusing on healthy lifestyle and related opinions. It also looks into social networks and their influence on people aged 15-19. This age category comes with self- development and learning about one's personality, sometimes a person becomes more susceptible to commit to certain activities than in other age categories. The thesis emphasizes the effect of physical activity on health which is related to consuming wholesome or unhealthy food and other factors, and the differences in the perception of social media between boys and girls. I mainly focus on exploring the relationship between the young adults' views on healthy lifestyle and their participation on social media, I wish to help understand what healthy life means to youngsters and if their views vary depending on gender. To be more specific, using quantitative research in the form of an online questionnaire, I was able to find out that the gender is connected to choosing the type of healthy lifestyle in which the adolescents are interested in, that there is a connection between the time spent on social media and the teenagers' amount of interest in healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, I discovered there is a connection between...

Connection between charasteristics of an interviewer and respondet's answers in face to face interviews
Strnadová, Mirka ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Buchtík, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis shows a connection between an interviewer's demographic characteristics and a respondent's answers during a face-to-face interview. The analysis uses the American data from General Social Survey and the Czech data from CVVM. The monitored variables are sex, age, education and the size of place. On the ground of the theory of interpersonal communication, social distance and stereotypical answers to certain questions the following questions were chosen to be analysed: the willingness to have certain group of people as neighbours, opinions on marihuana, the death penalty, abortions and homosexuals. The analysis proves that the interviewer's demographic characteristics do influence the answers to some of these questions. However there is no set of rules that could prove which particular characteristics would influence which particular questions. The methods used in this thesis are correlational analysis, binary logistic regression and an advanced mixed models analysis. The next part consists of a qualitative research, which uses a fictional face-to-face interviews and following cognitive interviews with respondents. This part shows the importance of the actual question because when the respondent answers a certain question for the first time he is more likely to be influenced by the...
