Measurement of Tensor Stress Changes by Conical Gauge Probe in Ostrava-Karvina Coal Basin
Staš, Lubomír ; Souček, Kamil ; Knejzlík, Jaromír ; Waclawik, P. ; Palla, L.
A device designed on base of measurement local deformations on compact conical ended borehole was used for long term monitoring of stress changes induced by closed underground human activity. The changes of stress state of rock mass impacted by progress of long-wall were investigated. This experiment demonstrated that monitored strain changes on borehole bottom are formed both by geomechanical situation based on a progress of long-wall and perhaps by local geomechanical situation based on stress redistribution after boring of measuring borehole and on plastic deformation of creeping rock material.
Prospects of the use of X-ray computer tomography in geomaterials and geotechnics research
Souček, Kamil ; Staš, Lubomír
The paper deals with possibilities of industry X-Ray CT utilization in geo-materials and geotechnical research. This paper was elaborated on the basis of professional literature study (Proc. of the Int. Workshop on X-ray CT for Geomaterials – soils, concrete, rocks, Geox 2003 and Proc. of the Int. Workshop on Advances in X-Ray Tomography for Geomaterials, Geox 2006) and first experiences of X-Ray CT utilization within the frame of research activities of Institute of geonics, ASCR, at Kumamoto University. There are some results from coal geocomposite failure study, visualization of geocomposite wetting (soaking) process and checking of drill core integrity after carried out overcoring stress measurements in the paper.
Observation of phases of surface changes above exploited deposits of sedimentary type
Kajzar, Vlastimil ; Doležalová, Hana ; Staš, Lubomír ; Souček, Kamil ; Šimkovičová, Jarmila
Due to exploitation of coal and other raw materials of sedimentary type there happen many surface changes connected mostly with subsidence, shifts and deformations of the area of interest. Such processes happen mainly in the overlaying strata of exploited coalface. Size and directions of these movements and deformations depend generally on many factors, primarily on geo-mechanical properties of overlaying strata and general technique of exploitation of the deposit. One of the ways of surface observation of time spatial changes is the usage of modern methods for precise determination of changing position of geo-features. Among these methods we rank GPS surveying and usage of methods for gaining data from aerial photogrammetry. Subsequent processing, analysis and modelling of output data by means of modern GIS software offer an efficient source of information for subsequent work and decisions.
Using of a conical gauge probe to long term monitoring of the stress changes
Staš, Lubomír ; Souček, Kamil ; Knejzlík, Jaromír ; Palla, L.
In frame of development of new device to full stress tensor measurement a simplified variant of gauge probe was completed. This variant, which is connected to datalogger by cable, is very good for long term monitoring of the stress changes. Functionality of that was verified not only on laboratory also in-situ in carboniferous rock mass during detection of the stress changes in relation to long wall progress.
Reinforcing of incoherent coal pillar at longwall face no 39 204 in coal mine Lazy - knowledge, experience
Souček, Kamil ; Staš, Lubomír ; Ščučka, Jiří ; Krčmář, V.
The paper deals with first knowledge and experiences about incoherent coal pillar reinforcing in the forefield longwall face no 39 204 in colliery Lazy. The reinforcing was designed and realized by means of long grouting boreholes (up to 20 m long) and polyurethane grout CarboPur WX. Designed grouting technology usually doesn´t use for stabilization of coal seam in the local colliery conditions.
Zkušenosti a poznatky z měření napětí horského masivu v podmínkách OKR
Staš, Lubomír ; Souček, Kamil
Příspěvek pojednává o metodách a hlavních výsledcích měření napěťových stavů in situ realizované na lokalitách české části hornoslezské pánve Ústavem geoniky. Jsou diskutovány metody hydraulického štěpení stěn vrtu a nově zaváděná metoda měření tenzoru napětí, či napěťových změn pomocí kuželové tenzometrické sondy. Jsou popsány první výsledky dlouhodobého měření změn napětí in situ. Jsou popsány a analyzovány výsledky měření napětí metodou hydrofracturing.
Results of CMA Project no.34/2003 "Measures toward enhancing the resistance of working face headings and gateways against rock burst induced deformation".
Šňupárek, Richard ; Staš, Lubomír ; Souček, Kamil ; Zeman, Vladislav ; Horyl, P. ; Janas, P.
The work was focused on reinforcing of steel roadway support (reinforcing of particular arches and reinforcing of whole support facility) and measures for strenghtening and change of physical-mechanical properties of rocks and coal in the vicinity of gateroad which increase dynamic resistance of support.
Failure character of coal geo-composites grouting resins base
Souček, Kamil ; Staš, Lubomír ; Obara, Y. ; Fukahori, D.
One of the possibilities of improving stability of longwall gates and roadway driven in coal seams in the application of a chemical grouting that will result in formation of a coal geocomposite in the surroudings of the underground roadway. The properties of such a coal geocomposite differ from the ones of the unmodified coal seam. The presented paper deals with laboratory geo-mechanical tests of pure coal and coal geo-composites prepared in laboratory. The paper discusses the different failure of these original and modified coal samples. The X-ray CT scans were used for observation and demonstration of failure evolution in these samples of pure coal and coal geo-composites.
