Spirometric measurement in LabVIEW
Hastík, Matěj ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a detailed description of functional examination of lungs. Predominant part of this thesis is focused on spirometry method and evaluation with spirometry curve. It also deals with study of Vernier LabPro, properties of spirometry probe Vernier and proposal of the structure of software in LabVIEW environment, which will serve for basic spirometry examination. The second part is devoted to the design of the program in LabVIEW, description of its features and capabilities and its actual runtime. The program is further enhanced with a feature that allows the processing, evaluation and archiving of measured spirometric curves. The program also includes a temperature compensation of breath in and breath out air.
Image signal processing by wavelet
Slávik, Vladimír ; Gescheidtová, Eva (referee) ; Kubásek, Radek (advisor)
The first part of text introduces reader to basic theory of wavelet transform and its realization by filter banks. WT of two-dimensional signals is shown and a particular application of WT in this domain - signal denoising, is discussed. The second part describes the application for image denoising realized in MATLAB from both user's and programmer's viewpoint.
Oscillometric blood pressure measurement
Brabencová, Klára ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of my work is to propose a meter of blood pressure with oscillometric method using LabView software. To determine systolic and diastolic blood pressure is used detect the maximum oscillation of the envelope signal. The maximum oscillation corresponding to a mean arterial pressure and this value is then calculate systolic and diastolic pressure. In the programming environment of LabVIEW is the signal from the pressure sensor and cuff over the LabPro processed and are calculated limits of arterial pressure.
Statistical analysis of images from optical coherence tomography with retinal applications
Kelča, Jan ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
This work briefly describes the anatomy of the eye and retinal structure, including its pathological changes. The work is focused on the characteristics and the principle of optical coherence tomography and its application in ophthalmology in conjunction with statistical analysis of retinal images. The practical part explains problems of statistical analysis retinal images using histograms representing the distribution of gray shades and approximation of functions, which are stretched exponential function and Nakagami function. Suitable optimalization are obtained parameters, from which are formed parametric maps illustrating the distribution of gray levels in different areas of interest.
Statistical properties of ultrasound images in contrast mode
Věžníková, Romana ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on properties of ultrasound images in contrast mode. First of all it describes the basic properties of ultrasound, the way in which the ultrasonic signals are generated, the parameters of ultrasound and ultrasonic imaging modes. Next part deals with harmonic and contrast imaging modes. This part explains principles of these modes as well as the usage of contrast agents and artefacts connected with ultrasound imaging in contrast mode. The thesis also shows the approximation of the amplitude probability density function of ultrasonic images and description of its single models, out of which is chosen the RiIG model (Rician Inverse Gaussian distribution) for approximation of ultrasound images in this case. To gain parameters of amplitude probability density function from ultrasonic data in contrast imaging mode is made the application using Matlab programming environment. Thereafter is the thesis focused on determining equations for dependences of RiIG distribution parameters on known concentrations of contrast agent for ultrasonic data captured in vitro. These equations are useful for determining the unknown concentration of contrast agent used in images captured in vivo and making its dilution function.
Software for Processing of Head Position Sensor Data
Slávik, Vladimír ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Čížek, Martin (advisor)
The paper introduces briefly topics of retinal detachment, vitrectomy and applicable postoperative care. A system for increasing patient comfort is described, which continuously records and signalizes head tilt. The software part of aforementioned system is implemented, using C++ Builder programming environment and helper libraries supplied by system's hardware component vendors. This software application allows user to analyze recorded data and manage the system. Application's user interface and usage is described in detail, as well as implementation details concerning internal functions and organization.
Comparison of spirometric instruments' precision
Chmelíková, Lucie ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with pulmonary testing with emphasis to spirometry. In the first part is introduced and described pulmonary system and its attributes. There is a clear and complete list of pulmonary characteristics and parameters. It contains integrated summary of principles that are used for pulmonary measurement devices. First part is followed by description of created virtual device using LabVIEW programming. Simple meter of lung volumes can easily create spirometric curve and automatically evaluate desired values of volume. Program is further enhanced with optional archiving of measured spirometric curve. The last part of this thesis uses statistic testing for deciding of validity or invalidity of hypothesis. By statistic testing of hypothesis we are gaining and expanding basic knowledge about spirometric devices.
Spirometry
Vyškovský, Daniel ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
This work presents spirometric measurements on a group of volunteers. First of all the physiology of respiration is explained. Further the theory necessary for measurement and analysis of respiration parameters is mentioned. A separate chapter contains information about ventilation disorders with focus on obstructive diseases. The measurement methodology is described in the analysis section. The program developed for automatic spirometric signal analysis is described in the next section. Parameters obtained from the program are statistically analysed and compared for physiological and obstructive state. Changes, which the individual parameters represent in relation to the simulated obstruction, are discussed. The appendix section contains a report to be used for laboratory lessons together with the developed program.
Spirometric measurements
Vecheta, Miroslav ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with a method of Pulmonary Function Test called Spirometry and it consist of two main parts. The first part is important for introduction to lungs physiology, pathophysiology and their anatomy and for basic methods of lung function testing. The second part continues with implementation of a spirometer within graphical enviroment of LabView. This spirometer is able to show a spirometric curve and to analyse and calculate particular parameters. The final data can be saved in a text file. Also there are instructions to use the spirometer in a laboratory task.
Simple system for iris image acquisition
Křístek, Tomáš ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The themes of the thesis are the method of identification based on iris recognition and iris capture system. Text provides general theoretical information as an introduction to the field and issues, it describes the design and realization of a simple sensor system, the design and development of methodology for evaluating the image quality and subsequent identification of influential factors. At the end of the bachelor thesis, work and results are evaluated and some possible suggestions for future development and improvement of the sensing process are provided.
