Cooperation of low-threshold facilities for children and youth with institutions of social and legal protection of the child
Sládek, Václav Samuel ; Matoušek, Oldřich (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Petr (referee)
The master thesis deals with the topic of cooperation between low-threshold facilities for children and youth (NDZM), and the authorities of the social and legal protection of children (OSPOD). To obtain the results, one objective was set: 'To identify the forms of cooperation and non-cooperation of the low-threshold facilities for children and youth with the authorities of the social and legal protection of children.' The theoretical part consists of four chapters that describe general information about the NDZM and OSPOD, the term of at-risk youth, and the possibilities of cooperation between the two above-mentioned entities. The empirical part of the thesis presents the results of structured and semi-structured interviews with NDZM and OSPOD staff from the South Bohemian Region and the capital city of Prague. A total number of 31 workers from the South Bohemian Region (15 NZDM; 16 OSPOD) and 26 workers from Prague (13 NDZM; 13 OSPOD) participated in the interviews. For the final results, the interviews were annotated and analysed with the use of contrast and comparison techniques. The conducted research offers perspectives on cooperation and non-cooperation between the entities through the eyes of NZDM and OSPOD workers from the South Bohemia Region and the capital city of Prague. The results...
The Role of a Social Worker in Preventing Risk Behavior in the Gay Community.
SLÁDEK, Václav Samuel
The topic of this thesis is focused on risky behaviour of the gay community and on the role of a social worker in preventing such a behaviour. Three goals were defined to make conclusions in the thesis. The first goal is to specify the most common risky behaviour in the gay community. The second goal is to sum up available services, which gay community can use in preventing risky behaviour. The third and the last goal is to describe client satisfaction with the social worker´s services and their role. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, chosen socially-pathological phenomena alias risky behaviour such as drug abuse or bullying are described. The next chapter explains what does homosexuality mean - the causes, coming out, differences between the role of men and women in homosexual community and a term of homophobia. Finally the last chapter deals with the services, which are available for the LGBT community in preventing risky behaviour. The empirical part of this thesis shows results of semi-structured interviews with homosexual men. Eight residents of Prague and eight men from the South Bohemia took part in the interviews. Selection of the respondents was done according to pre-defined criteria. The criteria were - age over 18, Prague or South Bohemia provenance and homosexual orientation. The research results can be used in practice, or they can be presented in professional literature. Information may serve also to the facilities offering the prevention of risky behaviour and for experts and all the people with interest in similar topics as well.

Emphasis will be placed on the work and life of the congregation in the 20th century. Part of the work will be personal memories of selected sisters reflecting the so-called real socialism.
Analysis of Properties of Robust Estimates
Sládek, Václav ; Bílková, Diana (advisor) ; Malá, Ivana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the properties of robust estimates and to compare these estimates with regard to the properties between them. The analysis of properties depends on the type of a variable (continuous or discrete), its probability distribution, the range of random sample and the proportion of outliers in random sample. Comparing the properties in different situations will give "guidance" to determine which of the estimates is preferable in specific situations, and which of them should be rather avoided. An adjusted bootstrap method is used to obtain the estimates of properties estimates. The thesis is devided into two parts. In the first part, the parameter estimates, type and design of robust estimators and the bootstrap method are monitored. In the second practical part we determine the suitability of bootstrap to obtain estimates of the properties of robust estimators, followed by obtaining estimates of the properties of the estimates and compare them. At the conclusion of the practical part we observe and compare the values of bootstrap confidence intervals on real data on household income. The results of this thesis shows us, that the bootstrap method does not provide good estimates of the properties of robust estimators in all cases. The results also bring us to the conclusion that from a certain extent of random sample regardless of the number of outliers, you can choose from a robust estimate only on the basis of its value, properties of robust estimates are very similar. Contemplated robust estimates of variability are not suitable estimates in most cases.
