Searching multiple pregnancy using biochemical markers in the early stages of pregnancy
Brjančinová, Lenka ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Herink, Josef (referee)
Bc. Brjančinová Lenka Searching multiple pregnancy using biochemical markers in the early stages of pregnancy Bachelor theses Charles university in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy field of study: medical laboratory technician The bachelor's thesis objective is to work out an algorithm enabling multiple pregnancy detection by second-trimester biochemical markers of alpha-1-fetoprotein and human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood serum of women pregnant with one foetus or twins. Detected markers' values are converted into MoM values, adjusted to body masses of expectant mothers and subsequently entered into graphs where shifts in values between single and twin pregnancies are visible. In testing several empirical methods, the algorithm was found by which 78,75 % multiple pregnancies can be proved in the studied group, with false positive ratio of 2,50%. Key words: multiple pregnancy, alpha-1-fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)
Wound repair and factors influencing healing in veterinary clinical medicine I.
Kudrnová, Adéla ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Skalický, Jiří (referee)
Wound healing in both human and veterinary medicine is essential physological process important for the survival of any species. Not only the internal (nutritional status, age, tissue hypoxia, etc.) and external (infections, medication, physical - chemical external influences, etc.) factors affect each stage of wound healing and its success, but also the overall treatment and choice of covering material. Wound healing is a natural process and sometimes takes place without any problems, themselves without external intervention, but if the wound is burdened with some complications such as infection, edema, necrosis, and further, our intervention in the treatment for the successful healing of wounds is essential. This thesis focuses not only on the wound, general types of wounds and the healing phase, but primarily on the factors influencing the healing process, method of treatment and choice of therapeutic coverage. In the experimental part, we followed the influence of the therapeutic coverage with MDOCTM on speed and quality of wound healing by different animal species (cat, dog, horse). The wound was watched at regular intervals, both macroscopically (with photos) and by sampling and subsequent microscopic analysis. We tried to demonstrate the positive impact of substance MDOCTM at various stages...
Individual bodyglucose response to meals with different gylcemic index.
Sajková, Denisa ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Martiník, Karel (referee)
of diploma thesis Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Sajková Denisa Individual glycemic response to individual meals with different glycemic index The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the basic information associated with individual blood glucose. Explains the concepts associated with it. Devote with the most frequent disease in renal carbohydrate metabolism and point to the complications of it is the emerging. The experimental section examines glycemic responses within a heterogeneous group of subjects studied at medical centre of Poliklinika in Hradec Králové using a device for continuous blood glucose monitoring. The purpose of this study was to observe the glycemic response to recommended meals and to determine the glycemic variance of different individuals subjects. Results were individual recommendations based on monitoring the patients during this investigation.
Effect of MDOC Nanotextilie on Healing an Acute Dermal Wound.
Hendrychová, Tereza ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šimkovič, Dušan (referee)
Tereza Hendrychová The influence of MDOC nanotextile on the healing of an acute dermal wound Diploma paper Charles University in Prague, The Faculty Of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Pharmacy In this work there are summarized general information about the course of the healing process of acute dermal wounds and their nursing. There are described the inflammatory mediators (cytokines) in more details. In experiment there was assessed the influence of M-DOC® (microdispersed oxidized cellulose) with gentamycin joined on it on the process of the healing of acute dermal wounds. The formulation was called Nanogenta. Domestic pig, Sus scrofa was used as an experimental model. There were 12 animals used, in the experiment. For the demonstration of effectivity of tested formulation the wounds were infected (Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli). The effectivity of tested formulation was confronted with preparations, that have demonstrated their effect in clinical use yet (Garamycin Schwann® , Hyiodine® ). There were performed macroscopic, microbiology and microscopic evaluation. There were demonstrated sufficient effect of Nanogenta on improving the quality of the healing process of dermal wounds, which was comparable with an effect of the preparations, which were used as a control....
The combination of rehabilitation methods in treatment of chronic non - healing wounds.
Šonská, Kateřina ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Herink, Josef (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Science Kateřina Šonská Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Vladimír Semecký, CSc. Title of diploma thesis: The combination of rehabilitation methods in treatment of chronic non-healing wounds The healing of chronic wounds is a long-term and therapeutically difficult process which has three phases (exsudative, proliferative and epithalization). Wounds which do not show any tendency to heal even after 6 -9 weeks are classified as chronic. The diabetic foot syndrome is an example of such wounds. The diabetic foot syndrome is one of the complications of the chronic metabolic disease diabetes mellitus. It exhibits itself as ulceration and destruction of the deep tissue in lower limbs. With some patients, amputation is necessary. This thesis focuses on the influence of applying rehabilitation methods in the healing of chronic skin defects of the lower limbs in seven type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Patients with ages ranging from 56 to 84 years. The purpose is to compare theory with reality. The rehabilitation consisted of a combination of lymphatic drainage application and a low power laser - POCKET THERAPY LASER TL - therapy. Two patients were performed only lymphatic drainage treatment. The supposition of...

Bc. Šárka Kroupová Effects of humic substances on the experimentally injured gastrointestinal tract in rats. Diploma work Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Study programme: Special worker in laboratory methods Background: The aim of those diploma work was find out what effects have humic substances on experimentally injured gastrointestinal tract by cytostatic, 5- fluorouracil, in rats. Methods: The experiment proceeded five days and it was used twenty-four rats of Wistar breed. They were divided into four groups (E, F, G, H). Every group contained six individuals. The second and the fourth day animals were located into the metabolism cages. We administered sense solution of LAMA test (LAMA solution) them. LAMA test is test of intestinal permeability. It is measured concentrations of sugars (lactulosa, manitol, sucralosa, xylosa) excluded by urine for five hours. The third day was handed to 5-fluorouracil to the animals. Throughout experiment groups had access to drinkable water, just with difference, that the groups E and G had water without admixture, groups F and H had water with admixture of humic substances. The fifth day animals were euthanized by ethereal narcosis and removed them samples of tissue from small intestine. We were processed the samples and...
