Software comparison for design and control of pressure vessels
Staňková, Lucie ; Pernica, Marek (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to compare different software for pressure vessels design and control. This comparison is done by designing a given pressure vessel, specifically a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is designed in software Sant’Ambrogio, Visual Vessel Design and PV Elite. Advantages and disadvantages of used software are discussed. Thesis evaluates various aspects of design, particularly graphic interfaces, user-friendliness, clarity and calculated results. The results for the cylindrical shell and the torispherical end of each software are analysed and compared to own calculations based on ČSN EN 13445 design code. Differences among results are explained. Thesis also contains the literature search report of pressure vessels design.
WtE plant carbon footprint
Staňková, Lucie ; Brummer, Vladimír (referee) ; Krišpín, Jan (advisor)
The value of the carbon footprint of the WtE plant is necessary for reducing emitted greenhouse gases. In this paper, research on carbon footprint assessment is conducted, while the principles for calculating the carbon footprint according to EN 15978 standard for the sustainability of construction works through the whole life cycle are applied. This methodology is enriched with the technological unit's carbon footprint, including processes The proposed computational model is applied to determine the carbon footprint of the WtE plant Evecont. The main contribution to the carbon footprint of the WtE plant is the use phase due to carbon dioxide in the flue gas. A substantial carbon footprint reduction can be achieved by incorporating technology to capture carbon dioxide from the flue gas (CCS technology). The results achieved for the WtE plant are compared against landfill and heat from the central heat supply system. This work provides a tool that can be applied to other process industry units, allowing the carbon footprint to be calculated in detail and benchmarks to be established for the comparison of new projects.
Work Enviroment and Wellbeing of Employee
Stanková, Lucie ; Riedl Černíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Kašická, Jana (referee)
The thesis focuses on the topics of personal well-being of employees, work environment and leadership coaching. The aim of the thesis is to describe the topic of personal well-being in the context of the work environment and to evaluate the impact of individual leadership coaching on leadership style and personal well-being in the work environment. The thesis consists of five main chapters. In the first three chapters, a literature review is presented. The concept of personal well-being is introduced and the main theories and models devoted to the issue of personal well-being are presented. Options for influencing personal well-being in the work environment are described, highlighting the influence of coaching as a factor to enhance personal well-being in the work environment. In the fourth chapter of the thesis, a proposal is made for conducting research to examine the influence of individual leadership on perceptions of personal well-being and leadership style in relation to the work environment. The research design described is based primarily on Ryff's theory of personal well-being, which developed an instrument to measure six dimensions of personal well-being that would be used, along with two other questionnaires, to examine the difference in perceptions of personal well-being and leadership of...
Psychological aspects of death and dying
Staňková, Lucie ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šturma, Jaroslav (referee)
This theses concern with psychological aspects of dying and death. Its purpose is to comprehend ideas of modern people concerning death and dying (eventually to gain some kind of mental representation of death). Theses consist of two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part concerns at first with death and dying and areas connected to those. Then it covers two quite new areas related to this topic, namely deaht in psychology and various explanations of death including their psychological explanation. The empirical part uses qualitative research (used methods are half-structured interview, free aassociations and marginally also analysis of a drawing) on people's conception of death, their explanation of death and feelings related to the topic, their fears and wishes. The findings are of qualitative character and they were obtained from 28 respondents. The results of empirical part could provide valuable psychological material in the area, that is even nowadays still concidered to be a taboo. They could deepen research in the area that, due to the overall aging of population, would be more and more valuable. Keywords: death, dying, mourning, burial, death in psychology, spirituality, deaht and religion, afterlife, spiritism, near-death experience
Work Enviroment and Wellbeing of Employee
Stanková, Lucie ; Riedl Černíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Zábrodská, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of personal well-being of employees and the working environment. It will introduce the concept of well-being and the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, describe the issue of job demands and job resources and, in connection with, also analyze the theory of conservation of resources. It will also focus on burnout and stress, which is the basic theme of JD-R model. It will also present factors of the work environment and theories of job satisfaction. The end of the theoretical part will be concluded with a chapter on coaching and its use in the workplace. The practical part then focuses on the influence of coaching on the well-being of managers and will use the six-factor model of psychological well-being for evaluation. It shows how to work with fairytale text with children, that have exactly defined areas of problems within the frame of their behaviour and mentality. The outcome of the project is suggestion of several bibliotherapeutic techniques, which use fairytales as valuable source for therapeutic work with children. These suggestions contain both recommended questions for fairytale text and description of following activities for bibliotherapeutic work with the kid. Additional literature for particular topics is also recommended. The thesis is theoretical and based on available bibliography concerning the topic.
Mallorca: impacts of mass tourism and perspectives of its alternative forms
Staňková, Lucie ; Vedoucí práce, (advisor) ; Oponent B, (referee)
Majorca experienced the first boom oftourism already in early 1960s. Since then the tourism became the most important and at the same time most powerful sector for the entire ·economy of the Balearic Islands. Nowadays it is obvious that their manner of uncontrolled and chaotic development of mass tourism didn't bring only economic benefits (HDP, em.ployment etc.) but had also many negative effects on the environment and culture ofthe islands and notably changed social structures of their inhabitants. In order to abolish these problems and avoid the others the Balearic Government and local authorities establish many measures. These are concemed above all with environment quality improvement (its' natural and also social component) and preservation of natural and cultural heritage of the destination. One of the main objectives is the deconcentration of tourist demand in space (remove them out of shore which is overcrowded) and time (equalize the number of their visits through all over the year - deseasonalisation). The possible tool of achieving this could be the implementation of altemative forms of tourism, not primary based on the traditional tourism product of Balearics - sun & beach. If the model of development of tourism is managed properly and its' long-term strategy is based on equality...
