Tool for Managing Modules on Smart City Platform
Souček, Tomáš ; John, Petr (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the number of digital devices by which we humans are surrounded. Whether it is at work, at home, or in an industry. In order to effectively process and visualize the gathered data, there has been a number of platforms emerging to make this possible. The aim of this thesis was to prepare an extension tool for the SmartCity platform which would not only allow user-friendly module management but also provide the capability of application configuration changes on the fly at runtime. These changes could be made through a graphical user interface even without the knowledge of internal program logic. That way there rises the possibility of better dashboard customization. Another benefit of the extension tool is the elimination of application re-compilation every time there is a change in the application setting. The result of the practical part of this thesis is a tool implemented as an extension module, built on Angular technology. This module allows changing the application configuration using form and table views. This created module has been deployed to the SmartCity platform and will be the basis for further subsequent internal development.
Socio-cultural aspects of human destructivity
SOUČEK, Tomáš
This master's thesis focuses on aspects of human destructivity which go beyond the boundaries of an individual and have a society-wide significance. Thus, this work shall not dive into psychoanalysis, for the psychoanalytical concept of destructivity serves only as a basis to explain phenomena pervading through the entire society. The core of this thesis consists of the analysis of the significance that destructivity has as a part of the individualization and globalization processes, and an attempt to point out its real consequences in everyday life. To get a better grasp of the topic, the thesis is divided into three separate parts that, one by one, analyse destructivity through its historical development, contemporary cultural and societal phenomena, and the borderline possibilities of its manifestation.

Detekce střihů a vyhledávání známých scén ve videu s pomocí metod hlubokého učení
Souček, Tomáš ; Lokoč, Jakub (advisor) ; Peška, Ladislav (referee)
Video retrieval represents a challenging problem with many caveats and sub-problems. This thesis focuses on two of these sub-problems, namely shot transition detection and text-based search. In the case of shot detection, many solutions have been proposed over the last decades. Recently, deep learning-based approaches improved the accuracy of shot transition detection using 3D convolutional architectures and artificially created training data, but one hundred percent accuracy is still an unreachable ideal. In this thesis we present a deep network for shot transition detection TransNet V2 that reaches state-of- the-art performance on respected benchmarks. In the second case of text-based search, deep learning models projecting textual query and video frames into a joint space proved to be effective for text-based video retrieval. We investigate these query representation learning models in a setting of known-item search and propose improvements for the text encoding part of the model. 1
