Vliv makroekonomického prostředí na existenci zombie firem

The paper focuses on the identification of the influence of selected determinants on the probability of creation of zombie firms in European countries. The theoret-ical part characterizes zombie firms, describes their identification and their con-sequences on economies. It then describes the structure of firms' liabilities and explains the impact of the institutional environment and firm behaviour on their financing. The empirical part of the paper analyses panel data using fixed effects logistic regression to test the impact of microeconomic, macroeconomic and insti-tutional environments on the emergence of zombie firms. The results are statistically significant and robust.
(IN)DEPENDENCE OF AEROSOL ACTIVATION ON CLOUD POSITION

Five in situ campaigns focused on aerosol-cloud interactions were conducted at Mount Milešovka in the Czech Republic to gain more insight into aerosol activation and its dependence on meteorological parameters, mainly vertical air velocity and position within the cloud. The activated fraction was calculated from the difference of concentrations measured behind the whole air inlet and the PM2.5 inlet. The liquid water content (LWC) was calculated from visibility, cloud base position was estimated from ceilometer data. Vertical air velocity was estimated from cloud radar. No strong dependence was found between visibility and vertical velocity, suggesting that the clouds at the station are mostly of advection or inversion origin. Both visibility and LWC depend on the position within the cloud, with the highest LWC values found when the station was between 100 and 400 m above the cloud base, independently of the actual value.

Dependence of aerosol activation on meteorological conditions

Four intensive in-situ campaigns focused on aerosol-cloud interactions were performed in the autumn and spring months from Nov 2018 to Apr 2020 at Milešovka Mountain in Czechia to bring more insight into size-dependent aerosol activation and dependence on its origin for a wide variety of meteorological parameters. Most activated particles were larger than 100 nm, with a mode over 200 nm. For the description of the changes in the activation, no effect of photochemistry was found, in contrast, some dependence on relative humidity, temperature, wind speed, and liquid water content (LWC) proved to be useful. The strongest connection was found between activation and LWC. For LWC below 0.1 g/m3, in the LWC-limited regime, the LWC values and variables effecting the LWC were the main factors influencing the activation, while different parameters could have played a role at LWCs over 0.1 g/m3, in the LWC-independent regime.

Ice nucleating particles in the atmosphere

The production of clouds and precipitation in the atmosphere is greatly influenced by microscopic ice nucleating particles, acting in the process of heterogeneous ice nucleation as ice nuclei. Examining the properties and variations of ice nucleating particles concent- rations over time might help to better predict future changes to the climate. The aim of this thesis is to summarise the information about processes of homogeneous, but primarily heterogeneous ice nucleation where specific physical and chemical features of these particles are applied. In this thesis, the main aerosol sources of ice nucleating particles and their abilities to directly or indirectly influence the atmosphere and climate are described. The observational methods of the concentration of ice nucleating particles in the air are also pre- sented, while the structure of the cloud expansion chamber PINE, which was used to obtain data values representing the amount of ice nucleating particles in the Czech Republic, is also described in more detail. From the data set total average values and time dependen- cies, including daily and weekly cycle were calculated; the part of the data processing is the statistical evaluation and comparison of the results with other studies. The methodology formulates a procedure for assessing the risks of the occurrence and spread of natural fires in the immediate vicinity of surface sources of drinking water. The methodology\nproposes methods for estimating the consequences of natural fires on surface water quality, forecasting the change in the risk of fires due to climate change and the procedure for determining the risk of secondary pollution of reservoirs due to changes in run off after a natural fire. On this basis, the methodology proposes and diversifies preventíve and operational measures.The measures were designed in connection to modeling results for the Hadce pilot síte near the Švihov reservoir and the experience with the adverse effects of extensive deforestation on the water quality in the Vranov and Vír reservoirs.
Atmospheric greenhouse gases - new type of measurements in the Czech Republic

The current condition, development and functioning of ecosystems is greatly influenced by the ongoing global change, which is probably caused by the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere originating from human activity. Ecosystems are able to some extent cope with the consequences of global change on their own, and therefore ensure their future preservation. To understand the forces driving global change, we need detailed quality data from long-term observation. Quantification of substance and energy flows in different ecosystems and ecosystem valuation ability to bind air carbon allows us to model their development, both in current conditions and under conditions of global change. This thesis presents the current research methods of atmospheric boundary layer flows, while highlighting their advantages and pointing out their drawbacks. It also enables a better understanding of new methods of observation through the tall towers. The thesis presents some of the existing tall towers and describes their ways and methods of measurement. A part of the thesis is devoted to a tall tower which is planned to be built in the Czech Republic between municipalities Košetice and Křešín u Pacova. Vertical temperature profile in atmospheric boundary layer

Submitted bachelor thesis discusses the issue of the atmospheric boundary layer. First of all, it addresses the boundary layer's thermal characteristics which are very variable near the Earth's surface. For this purpose we have chosen the observatory in Kopisty near Most where a tower meteorological measurement is performed. In addition the air temperature measurements from Milešovka observatory were included to a dataset, too. It is assumed that this mountain weather station due to its position can represent conditions of the free atmosphere. But if we compare some thermal characteristics of the air at different height levels, we'll figure out that the air temperature measurements at Milešovka are highly influenced by radiation balance of the Earth's surface. Despite this fact, the analysis of air layer between Kopisty and Milešovka gives an idea of a continuous-time behavior of air temperature characteristics. This bachelor thesis describes in detail the air temperature variations and the temperature lapse rate variations in several height levels, the variability of thermal stratification or the incidence and extent of air temperature inversions.
