Visible blindness in the urban world society's relation to light now and then
Pata, Václav ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on city in time and age of artificial lighting. It takes the issue of light pollution as its starting point. Elementary sources and consequences of over- lighting are used as a base for the Forgotten Dark worksheets. The sheets were created in collaboration with Veřejný sál Hraničár (Public Hall Hraničář) as an educational material for the gallery cycle Light. Together with the sheets, a need to widen my knowledge and apply it to a specific situation arose. I picked Obchodní dům Prior and Kulturní středisko Corso (Shopping Mall Prior and Culture Center Corso) in the neighborhood of Krásné Březno for that purpose. The pick of the place directed the development of the themes of the theoretical part of the thesis. The middle part of the thesis is trying to show contemporary city from two essential angles. Firstly, I tried to answer the question about sources of the shape contemporary city has taken upon itself. The rest is focused on building public spaces in regard to their nighttime flow. The final chapter is exploring the object of Corso. At first It is trying to take a look at the context of the city part of Krásné Březno, then it is taking a look at the city part in context of Ústí nad Labem. The gathered information is used for a presentation of possible future of...
Art creation as an inevitable necessity
Hrubý, Adam - Kristian ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Vartecká, Anna (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the question of understanding an individual's creative work as an existential inevitability. It asks questions about the definition of an unavoidable need and examines where such need to create comes from in case of the author of the work, as well as presenting examples of personalities from the world of visual arts and history. The work also investigates the question of the inevitability of creating in connection with teaching practice, based on personal experience, it asks whether art education can be based on a didactic project based on improvisation, on unexpected events and changes, and the need for children to be creative in their free time.
Methods of excitation of binders based on anhydrite
Sedlák, Michal ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Gazdič, Dominik (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the internal excitation of anhydrite-based mortars. In the theoretical part, the general theory of sulphate binders, the formation of gypsum binders and their resulting products during firing are described. The theoretical part also describes the anhydrite mortars, their hydration process and collects the existing research on anhydrite excitation in the world, where, among other things, it deals with the further usability of the resulting gypsum by-products. The experimental part focuses on the internal excitation of anhydrite, which is based on the existing research at the THD Institute. The work builds on previous studies that also dealt with internal excitation research. It includes an experiment performed to optimize the thermal regime in the form of increased isothermal endurance with subsequent evaluation by XRD analysis.
IP Flow Filtration and Profiling
Sedlák, Michal ; Tisovčík, Peter (referee) ; Kučera, Jan (advisor)
This thesis addresses the problem of filtering and profiling IP flows, primarily data of IPFIXsystems. Within the work, a general filtering component is designed and implemented, whichaims to be sufficiently efficient and flexible for use in other projects related to IP flows. Thiscomponent is then adapted to work with data in the IPFIX protocol format and integratedinto the existing modular collector IPFIXcol2 in the form of plugins adding the support forfiltering of passing IPFIX data and their sorting into profiles.
Implementation of the Cross-Curricular Subject Environmental Education in the School Subject Art Greenery as a city oasis
Zálešáková, Ester ; Pfeiffer, Jan (advisor) ; Sedlák, Michal (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to find a way to implement the cross-cutting topic Environmental Education into the Art Education subject through an art project called Greenery as an Oasis of the City. And to find out whether it is therefore possible to lead pupils of two primary school classes to the principles presented by Environmental Education through an art project. The art project was based on the personal experience of the students gained during a few-hour stay in a selected city park and art activities that made this stay special and contributed to a more perceptive view of the environment in which the students moved. To verify the results achieved, qualitative research methods were used in the form of a structured interview with five randomly selected pupils from both classes. The students' answers showed that even through an art project, it is possible to strengthen the students' positive relationship with nature and the environment and contribute to the acquisition of internal motivation for a respectful and sustainable approach to nature. At the same time, it emerged from the pupils' answers and reactions that the overall benefit from the project for each pupil depended on the approach they took to the project, to what extent they concentrated on individual activities and to what...
Author's diary and its use in art education
Bouchalová, Anna ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Sedlák, Michal (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the author's diary and its use in art education while simultaneously dealing with the phenomenon of the diary in the context of art concerning pedagogical practice. The first part provides a general theoretical foundation regarding the characteristics and historical development of the diary alongside a reference to literary works, the issues surrounding the author's diary and an overview of well-known visual artists who have used such diaries in their work. The thesis also gives examples of diary-themed exhibitions. Visual artists who employ some of the characteristics of diary entries in their work are listed to understand the diversity of diaries. The text also addresses why drawing is the primary medium of these narratives and the significance of the engagement with diary work. In the practical part, the author has implemented diary principles in her project, producing four large-scale drawings made for four consecutive months. Each day's observations and thoughts were recorded on a sheet of paper. Said paper thus became a specific visual record of experiences reflecting the period in which they were created. The insights from this project and the theoretical foundation were the starting point for the final part, the didactic one. The didactic portion of the...

Distributed Tool for Extraction of Information from Network Flows
Sedlák, Michal ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This work deals with the extraction of information from flow records that are the result of network monitoring by the IPFIX system. The goal of the work is to design a tool that allows querying stored network flows created by the open-source collector IPFIXcol2. Querying is performed with the highest possible efficiency and performance in mind, which is achieved by using appropriate data structures and thread-level parallelization, as well as by using multiple machines.
water as a source
Pečimúthová, Ivana ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Tsikoliya, Lenka (referee)
Water as a Source ABSTRACT Water is a ubiquitous substance that often goes unnoticed and underappreciated in our daily lives. Its significance is often only realized during periods of extreme fluctuations, such as droughts or floods. However, the importance of water as a source of sustenance, energy, and inspiration cannot be overstated, as it is a fundamental element for all life on earth. Despite its indispensability to humanity, much is still unknown about water, including its origins and unique properties. Contemporary science is just beginning to explore these questions across various scientific disciplines. This thesis aims to address some of these unanswered questions and explore the use of water as a resource, particularly in the spa and mining industries within the Ore Mountains foothills region (Podkrušnohoří). Additionally, it examines the historical perception of water and its significance to our ancestors. The underlying assumption of this work is that emotional responses to visual art can influence human emotions, leading to increased interest and appreciation of water as a valuable resource. Through this emotional aesthetic experience, individuals can begin to recognize water as an essential component of their own being and transform their relationship with it. Selected works by regional,...
