Health life expectancy in EU
Šigutová, Lenka ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
During the last decades decline in mortality rates was observed. As the life expectancy increases, more questions about quality of "extra" years are arisen. Life expectancy - long time traditional indicator of population health- is not sufficient indicator to answer these questions. Following thesis summarizes relatively new type of indicators called "health expectancies". These are combination of mortality and non fatal health outcomes and they adding the aspect of health (aspect of quality) to quantitative concept of life expectancy. Increase of life expectancy is related with changes in epidemiology situation. Nowadays chronic diseases exercise crucial influence to European health state situation. Concept of health expectancies makes possible to access changing in mortality and morbidity simultaneously. Health expectancy is also useful measure for international comparison. Concerning to that, the international harmonization of data sources is very important. Following thesis describes health state situation in EU25 countries via health expectancies from European survey Statistics on Income and Living Conditions. Firstly according to each concept of health (subjective perceived health, activity limitation, chronic diseases). Then on the basis of values of health expectancies is created the typology of EU...

The demosocial position of the Czech Republic within EU : present, eighties and interwar period.
Bardoňová, Hana ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jiřina (referee)
The objective of this study is to assess a demosocial position of the Czech Republic within EU after WW1. First, country comparable variables (demographic, economic and social) were determined for the purpose of statistical analysis. Next, the demosocial conditions were portrayed from theoretic point of view, more particularly related to the theory of the first and second demographic transition and to the historical development of Europe after WW1. In the second part a statistical analysis of selected time turning points of the period under study is provided. The analysis resulted in country classification of EU states based on cluster analysis methodology. It was shown that the position of the Czech Republic was changed over the investigated period. At the beginning of this period the Czech Republic was placed closier to the west countries and had a possibility to develop in its own way. Trends of demosocial characteristics of the Czech Republic in the socialistic era were approaching demosocial trends of East European countries. Currently its position tends to be between western and eastern European countries. The demosocial position of the Czech Republic is in accordance with its geographical location in Central Europe and there is very likely that will join western countries in the future. It was shown...
Analysis of work incapacity
Gobyová, Jana ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šídlo, Luděk (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the trends of incapacity for work in the Czech Republic since 1990. These trends are related to the legislative and socioeconomic changes, which are the results of transformation of socialist society towards capitalist society. In this thesis, there are followed three main indicators of incapacity for work. The number of cases of incapacity for work per 100 sickness insured persons, which has dropped since the beginning 1990; the number of calendar days of incapacity for work per 1 case, which has on the contrary increased and the average percentage of incapacity for work, which has oscillated. The performed analyses have proved the crucial effect of sickness intensity (quantum) on changes of the values of mentioned indicators. The effect of intensity has explicitly outweighed the effect of age structure of population. Regression analysis has confirmed the hypothesis of causation of other factors, than only health factors, on the global level of incapacity for work. With respect to obtained information and level of sickness intensity by age and social groups, there is an issue of possibility and manner of reduction of their level, which exceeds the European average. Cohabitations: trends and patterns
Ptáčková, Kateřina ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee) ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor)
This work deals with assessing the trends and patterns of cohabitation in European countries. On the basis of in depth analysis of available data, the Czech Republic might be classified among countries with similar trends and patterns of cohabitation. Foreign scientific literature, international surveys, censuses and population registers were used as the source information. This study also addresses family policy and legal regulations, which govern the relationships of cohabitation, have an impact on the context of cohabitation formation and thus create the conditions in which couples decide whether to marry or not. Cohabitations is a complex and complicated phenomenon so that it is not quite possible to come to definite conclusions. The low frequency of cohabitation and high proportion of divorced cohabitants, ranks the Czech Republic into countries of central and eastern Europe. However, the cohabitation structured according to the highest level of education or other indicators is in this group wholly different. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Four decades of cause-specific mortality in the Czech Republic, West Germany and France
Klíčová slova: úmrtnost, příčiny úmrtí, MKN, Česká republika, SRN, Francie Four decades of cause-specific mortality in the Czech Republic, West Germany and France Abstract The study aims at analysis of cause-specific mortality trends in the Czech...
