Making "exit" decisions: monitoring and adapting intuitive judgement processes involved
Bakošová, Nina ; Riegel, Karel (advisor) ; Wagnerová, Irena (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine exit decision-making (e.g. decision to cease a venture, project or any other kind of activity, which required previous monetary, time or other investment) as well as to explore possible enhancements of exit decision-making not only in business context but also in personal decisions. Two theoretical approaches were applied: Prospect theory by Kahneman and Tversky and Intuitive judgment approach. Implications stemming from these theoretical models were employed and two phenomena characteristic of exit decision-making specified. Namely, it was (reverse) sunk cost fallacy and resulting (de-)escalation of commitment, which were also explored empirically. Research consisted of two parts. First developed a new research scenario aiming at personal exit decision-making. Second explored the reaction to four levels of sunk costs (monetary or time expenses). As Phase B of Pilot study showed, new scenario proved managed to elicit reverse sunk costs effect. Further changes were made to the scenario for the purposes of Main study, which resulted in equivocal findings. Monetary sunk costs did not elicit any expected effect, time sunk costs induced an incoherent reverse sunk cost effect and respective de-escalation of commitment. Author believes these results revealed that important...

The theoretical part of the work summarizes the current approaches and findings on this issue. In the practical part, we test and verify competency model. Using a revision of one competency model and creating a new model subsequently we check whether the model used in the company reflects really the strategic needs and whether is linked to others HR processes. For this purpose, the model is subjected to complete analysis that determines gaps and opportunities for improvement. Results are implemented in the solution of the new situation. The work emphasizes the idea that competency model is not universal and the effectiveness of their applications lies in their abilities to be identified, defined, understood and...

Riegel, Karel Dobroslav ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Miovský, Michal (referee)
Background: With the development of multidisciplinary addictology teams, the ability of an addictologist to reliably assess personality psychopathology can be considered an important prerequisite that significantly enters the process of treatment planning. Because the addictologist is often the first professional to come into contact with the client, verification of the accuracy of clinical judgment seems to be one of the key indicators of addictologist competence. Aims: Verification of the reliability and validity of the clinical assessment of personality psychopathology in master students of addictology based on the course on scoring the Structured Interview of Personality Organization (STIPO). Methods: 31 master students of addictology independently evaluated 7 protocols of the STIPO on the basis of recordings. The presented patients were unknown to the students. ADHD in users treated in therapeutic communities in terms of course of treatment, incidence of complications and specific needs within treatment, including diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation perspective
Rubášová, Eva ; Miovský, Michal (advisor) ; Riegel, Karel Dobroslav (referee) ; Aigelová, Eva (referee)
The onset and development of addiction in people with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can be predicted by various factors. An essential factor linking the comorbidity of ADHD and the risk of developing substance abuse is increased vulnerability due to neuropsychological deficits and a wide range of biopsychosocial problems that occur from childhood to adulthood. The occurrence of dual diagnoses in substance users treated in residential treatment in therapeutic communities has a major impact on intrapsychic and interpersonal abilities, cognitive and executive functions, and on the ability to manage a treatment program primarily intended for clients without comorbid load. Current research on ADHD in substance users points to a high prevalence of ADHD associated with specific treatment complications and an increased drop-out rate. The aim of the monothematic dissertation, which is based on the results of pre-research and main research project (Study I. - IV.), Is an overview of key findings in terms of ADHD prevalence, ADHD diagnosis in therapeutic communities, treatment complications and gender specifics in treatment and overview. main findings on the development of motivation and specific needs of clients with ADHD. The output of the dissertation is a summary of outputs and...
Psychological aspects of gender at work and in management
